This property is perfect for a weekend in Galena. The house was clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Downtown Galena is a quick walk from the property. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful place for a girl's weekend away, This was our second stay at this residence. It was clean, well stocked, and close to Main street and shopping. Our only issue was that the lower oven wasn't working. We contacted our host and got an immediate response, and was able to use the upper oven, Dinner was saved!

The 1842 Bavarian BrewHouse was fabulous. So much attention to detail!!! We had a blast touring Galena!!!

Words cannot describe how unique and wonderful this property is... I will be back in a month and hope this property is available for rent absolutely loved everything about it... Skip the hotels and resorts this hone is where everyone should stay while visiting Galena!!!!

This historic home has been restored with a nod to both historic preservation while accomodating modern conveniences. The cellar is a hidden treat! I would definately book 1842 again on our next trip and highly recommend other folks give it a try, I cannot imagine how you could be disappointed. It was lovely and very centrally located. Wifi worked well, no issues there at all. Plenty of space and cozy seating. The beds were delightfully comfortable. Strongly recommend.

Our stay at the Bavarian Brew House exceeded all of our expectations. So beautifully decorated, so comfortable, so welcoming. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday/get away. Kitchen has everything you need. Beds were so comfortable - we slept like babies. The property was spotless inside and communication with the hosts was nearly immediate. I would recommend this property to anyone and everyone.Couldn't have been more pleased.

Had a fun weekend! The shower in the main bedroom was amazing! Only a three minute drive from Main Street in galena. Good communication with the host. The stairs to the basement were challenging to get down, but overall the house was beautiful and spacious and we loved it!

Wonderful home! Well maintained and a great location. Angela was the perfect host. Very clean and spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the lit patio at night. My four sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Galena.

The Bavarian Brew House was such a memorable place to stay. We loved waking up to the quiet surroundings - soft light through the windows, the kind of stillness that makes you slow down and enjoy the morning. Being just minutes from downtown Galena was perfect. We could explore shops, grab food, and wander the historic streets, then return to a space that felt tucked away and peaceful. The outdoor area added to that sense of retreat, giving us a place to unwind at the end of the day. The host made everything smooth from check‑in to checkout. It’s the kind of home that feels both unique and welcoming, and we’d come back in a heartbeat.

The place was spotless and very well stocked/equipped for a stay. Very comfortable and a great location for doing things in and around Galena. There were 5 of us - needed all 3 bedrooms & bathrooms - accommodations were great!

Hosts were very receptive. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and is such a unique place. My sisters and I had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

I have been taking family vacations to Galena with my family for years and have never stayed close to Main Street. When I talked to friends about planning a weekend trip, my goal was to find something close to Main Street so we'd have lots of places to visit. While we did end up spending time on Main Street, we loved the property so much that we ended up spending most of our time at the house. We loved everything about it and ended up giving up on restaurant plans because we just wanted to stay in and grill outside! I've never rented a property on my own before and it was one of the easiest things I've ever done. The communication with the owners was fantastic and I had all the information I'd need in case I needed to get in touch with them. The property was amazing, clean, and so much fun to spend time at! My main goal was to find a place where we could walk to town easily and quickly instead of driving or calling a cab. I was so happy with how close to Main Street we were and how easily and quickly we could walk there whenever we wanted to stop in town. While getting ready to leave, one of my friends asked if we could do it again and everyone responded with a resounding "YES". I really hope we can all get together soon and come back for an amazing trip at this amazing property! My only regret was only having a single weekend to spend here.
