Worst experience ever, DECEPTIVE OWNER
When we first booked our trip, we weren't sure if it was 5 or 7 persons that would be staying with us. The listing allowed for 7 and the price was the same for both 5 or 7 persons. Any rational person seeing that would think, if we end up with 7 it should not be an issue.
Prior to the day we arrived, the property owner NEVER contacted us. We just got ONE automated message. The night before our arrival, I had to initiate the conversation to get the code.
Upon arriving, on the property, my gf and another friend of ours was rudely greeted by the property manager asking us about our stay. He questioned us on our stay, how many people were staying with us and how many cars were to park here. I told him we'd have 7 guest, and possible 3 cars. He then rudely said commented "youre only allowed 5 guest and 2 cars. HOA only allows for 5 guest to stay here". This was our first time hearing of this... here is when the deception begins.
I told the rude property manager who is NOT the property owner, we will discuss the amount of guest with the owner, and we told him only 2 cars is fine. I shortly get a call from the PROPERTY OWNER threatening to report me to VRBO using the RING camera for 7 guest showing up and 3 parks parking in their lot. Keep in mind, it was only me, my GF, and our other friend who had shown up. Everyone was still driving over. The property manager lied to the owner of our head count.
After that conversation, my group got on a FT call and discussed our options. We reached back out to the PROPERTY OWNER and showed her the screenshots where it allowed 7 people. Shortly after she changed the listing to say allows 6 people, and when we brought up the PROPERTY MANAGER saying only 5 guest was allowed, she changed the listing to allow for only 5 guest. All in the span of 2 or so hours (we have screenshots of her changes). She mentioned that there had been signs on the house saying it only allows for 5 guest, which is also incorrect we have pictures of the sign she is referring to which shows 7.
We asked for a partial refund, but the entire time she was very defensive and not willing to work with us even though we had a strong reason to be returned partial funds.
We have filed a formal complaint with VRBO.
We ended up having to send an entire car of friends back to San Diego, when they were already in Lone Pine.
We spent over 4 hours trying to resolve this with OWNER, but this honest review is our only justice.
Don't stay here.
