This rental was the best we have stayed in. When the host says chefs kitchen, they are not joking. I am very picky about kitchen tools when I am away from home. This kitchen had everything I needed and many more things I didn't need. My packing list would have been much shorter had I known for sure that it was that well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and there are many pillows to choose from. All 3 bedrooms were a great size with room to move around the beds. The whole unit was spotless! The host left instructions to be able to use all the appliances and television, very detailed and clear. Warning! when you step out onto the front deck, you won't want to leave there. The view is stunning. The roof top patio is a beautiful place to watch the sunsets or star gaze. I loved the large fire pit at the back of the building. Great place to sit and relax in front of the fire. We had an amazing 8 night stay and we highly recommend this rental.

Listen to the waves

Modern clean unit across from a private section of beach. Hikes, wineries and outdoor adventure activities nearby. Enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.

Quiet relaxation with a beautiful view

We had such a lovely stay at the Purple Finch. The condo was very clean and the owner was very helpful - providing lots of little extras like coffee and a provincial park pass so that we could visit for free. The private beach is lovely and the whole area is perfect for a quiet place to get away from it all.

Wonderful stay

The home was so clean and well equipped, the beds were all comfy and we really appreciated all of the provided items - especially the coffee. The location was great for our 4-day golf holiday being within 30 minutes of several golf courses. The only thing that could have been better was the weather (stormy end of May)! We didn’t have any problems or issues with the home, but we knew that the owners could be easily contacted if anything came up. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Third Times the Charm!

This was our 3rd visit and our first with the whole family. This condo is huge and allowed us all sorts of space inside and out to be together or on our own. The private beach was handy and made the stay that much more enjoyable with none stop beautiful lake views. We’ve stayed at other cottages in Long Point but they pale in comparison to the comfort and the amenities of the Purple Finch.

Great condo on Lake Erie

This condo is fabulous - extremely clean and was stocked with everything we needed including lots of little extras for the beach. Helen, the host, is great with communication, information, and is quick to answer any questions. The only negative was there is a bit of road noise since the road to/from Long Point is right in front of the condo, but the other perks well make up for that!

Checked all the Boxes

This is our favourite vacation rental property yet! The beds were super comfortable, the furniture is newer and stylish (and comfortable). All the little things were here - the Keurig machine, the Nespresso maker, nice wine glasses, dishwasher, electric fireplace, fast wifi, nice linens and towels included - it's far and away the nicest, easiest and most comfortable rental place we've ever stayed at. Helen, the owner, is super friendly and responsive. We've already rebooked for another stay and hope to be back again in the near future for another winter getaway.

Long Point Tranquility

My sister, brother, myself and our spouses enjoyed a wonderful peaceful stay at the Purple Finch. Helen was a delight to work with from start to finish. So accommodating and thoughtful. It was a wonderful reunion for our family. The condo is appointed with an eye to every possible detail. It is so welcoming from the moment you step inside. We ate each of our meals either at the picnic table on the patio ~ steps from the kitchen ~ or on the rooftop terrace where there is a shared grill and tables with a stunning view of the Lake. We did have one meal out; and that was at David's Restaurant in Port Dover. A very pretty setting and thoughtfully prepared and presented food with a grand view of the Lake. So, if you are a lake person that enjoys stepping back and taking a deep breath ~ Helen's condo is the right place for you. Do not be shy to make a reservation here!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo is lovely, and very well-equipped, from utensils, supplies, and equipment in the kitchen, to sheets, towels, and blankets, to a comfortably furnished patio. A provincial park pass was a very nice touch, as were the coffee, seasonings, and other kitchen items. The bedrooms have nice bedside tables and with the pullout, I could see how a large number could be accommodated, including at sit down meals with chairs for both the bar and an expandable table. The water in the showers was nicely hot. The view over the water is very restful, and we appreciated the screened doors.

Our stay was wonderful! The host was incredibly accommodating and communicated with us throughout the entire process. They provided clear, helpful instructions and everything in the condo was thoughtfully labeled, making it easy to settle in. The condo was well stocked with a generous selection of amenities—and even a few thoughtful extras for our family. We would definitely recommend staying here and would happily book again!

Lovely spot close to the park and beaches

Close to the shore of Lake Erie, and well-placed for trips to Long Point, the Bird Observatory, Backus Woods, and other nature spots. Nice big kitchen, a little cramped at the dining table if you're not able to eat outside, beautiful views right out onto the lake, really nice rooftop patio. Recommended.
