Probably the best communication with owners Ive ever had with VBRO. Very punctual and helpful to accommodate to our men's ministry group. I would recommend everyone to experience this house as a full blown get away. God Bless these owners

Should note how remote the cabin is, lack of space to park vehicles, and that there is nearly zero room to turn a pick up hauling a trailer around and you must back downhill on a very crooked road

A strange review considering that our listing indeed explains that our cabin is a secluded getaway in the WNC mountains, that we have parking for 4 cars, and that our guests that bring a trailer disconnect it to turn around? But unfortunately this guest didn’t seem to read anything we sent him.

Beautiful, Peaceful & Exceptionally PrivateHigh Frontier Lodge is a beautiful, peaceful and exceptionally private mountain retreat. The home was exactly as pictured—very clean, comfortable, well maintained and beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the Wi-Fi was reliable enough for me to conduct business.We especially enjoyed the wooded setting, wildlife, porch, and peaceful walks along the river. The owners were responsive and thoughtful, even checking on us after arrival.Important access note: Follow the owners’ written directions carefully, including their landmarks. This is a truly remote mountain property with a maintained gravel road followed by a very steep, narrow and winding private drive. Guests with extended Sprinter/camper vans, low-profile or unusually large vehicles should discuss access with the owners. Our 24' extended Sprinter made it to the property, but the steep grade, tight hairpin turns and limited maneuvering room made the final approach extremely challenging. A beautiful retreat for those seeking peace, privacy and seclusion. Thank You for sha your beautiful lodge!

We're so glad Catherine has a wonderful stay. She was the first guest that wanted to bring a massive Sprinter RV to the cabin, and discussed it before booking with us. We pointed out that while many guests bring trucks and trailers, a very tall and very long vehicle might be better suited for a "right off the main road" cabin. But she insisted, so we cut back the driveway tree branches more than normal and she did just fine!

The hosts were great to work with and communicated well throughout the entire process. The property was very nice, clean and welcoming. Great setting for a relaxing weekend trip. Got some snow as a bonus.

Hosts were very accommodating and quickly responsive to questions. They provided detailed directions to get to the property and even a video. The house was extremely clean and had everything we anticipated. This was a quiet and very private property, the only sound outside was the babbling creek and wind in the trees. Very serene.

Great and peaceful place

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and peaceful place! Hosts were great with communication, the cabin was clean and also well stocked! Great for families and close to lots of hiking!

The cabin was very nice, clean, well furnished, and private. I would not recommend for motorcycles that are riding double up with luggage as there are some tight turns and a decent amount of unstable roads.

This is interesting advice from a guest that didn't even bring a motorcycle... But we suspect that they disregarded our directions and may have followed their GPS down the wrong road. Fortunately our guests that actually ride motorcycles do just fine.

This cabin was perfect for my family. Loved the fact that it is so secluded. Only noise we heard was the stream below us. We did drive to the " cabin" first before realizing that our place was the " lodge". Amazing place and written directions were great.

This was such an amazing property! It was beautiful all around and the inside is just like the pictures! It had such a cozy feel to it. We will for sure be keeping this property saved for the future! Also the hosts were so communicative as well!

What a wonderful stay. The cabin is well appointed with all of the things that you will need day to day. Lots of extras as well. The host/owner was great in terms of communication, and very flexible with our travel plans, and our group. Overall, wonderful experience. Will definitely stay here again!

Family get together

We celebrated our 55th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren. The house is quite remote and if you get lost the roads are not great. Once we arrived at the house we found everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked, the patio cushions comfortable and the peace and quiet enjoyable.

Wonderful retreat to the woods

Wow, we were so impressed with this cabin! Beautiful lodging in the Smoky Mtns. I've been back home for a couple days and am missing the good nights sleeps we all got up there on the awesome beds and with the perfect mountain air. Would stay here again in a heartbeat; our first time in Joyce Kilmer, but definitely not our last. Thank you!

Motorcycling getaway

It was our second time staying at Steves cabin. Great location for access to Cherahola and The Dragon.. driveway is steep but easily manages with plenty of space for trailers.. very comfortable for 4 male adults in four good sized rooms… Will be back next year! Thanks Steve.
