Love this house. Back for the 3rd year! It has everything. So comfortable and well- equipped. Kayaks and paddle boards are a unique touch that they make available to their guests.

Quiet, beautiful view. Close to restaurants. Host was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. House was deceiving! Looked small on the outside but had a lot of room. The overhang on the downstairs was a perfect spot out of the sun without having to fuss with an umbrella. Such a beautiful home. So much was already there so no need to overpack! Such a special home, hope we can return someday. Thank you Fran for “our” home for the week.

The home was even more breathtaking then what the pictures showed and the beach being steps away for our very senior parents was perfect for allowing them to enjoy the water. Thank you Fran, our family appreciated the time we spent together in your beautiful home.

Amazing vacation!!

My bridal party stayed here on our wedding weekend and it was absolutely stunning! The attention to detail at this property is unreal and we kept saying all weekend we couldn’t believe how amazing it was. Each aspect was so well thought out and we couldn’t want for any more!!! Highly highly recommend for a beautiful vacation getaway!!!

Amazing!

Spotless, well stocked with every amenity anyone could need! Gorgeous views, helpful owners, great location with restaurants nearby. Definitely worth the money!!! Comfortable beds with luxurious bedding. Easy to relax, play with all the beach toys provided, or see the sights.

Outstanding!

If you are looking for a fabulous waterfront stay - this is the place! Unbelievably well-appointed, with everything from a fully stocked kitchen to comfortable beds to loads of recreational toys!! It’s like you were staying with friends - the house was so welcoming! Only caution is there are a fair amount of stairs so older people need to be aware.

Wonderful home!

The house, location, amenities, communications with the host were all perfect. There was plenty of room for our family of 7 adults and the location could not be beat. At high tide it almost seemed like we were on a boat and at low tide there was a nice walking beach (too chilly to swim). The host was extremely communicative and very flexible. The stocked pantry and lovely bottle of wine were a nice bonus.

The moment you walk into this beautiful property, you feel like you are on vacation. There are so many wonderful things to say. From the thoughtful attention to detail, to the comfortable and stylish furnishings, the well stocked kitchen, the beautiful views, it’s all top notch.

Amazing Stay

This will go down as one of my favorite places that I have stayed. The property was clean and VERY well equipped! Aside from being a beautiful house in a beautiful location the kitchen was very well stocked and had sharp knives to prepare food with, something that many rental homes don't offer. Fran was very kind and easy to get in contact with. We wish there was time available at the end of summer, we will be back!

Top notch accommodations with a beautiful view

We didn't want to leave! All the people we bumped into were super kind and welcoming. The host provided everything we could ever need for relaxing indoors and out. The house is spacious, clean, and well appointed. The outdoor space is amazing and we loved stepping straight into the water. I even fished from the steps! We hope to be back again!

Dutch Cousins

We had a reunion of girl cousins. All retired. We had a great time, never cooked, ate out or ordered food in. The house was lovely. It was stocked with every conceiveable thing needed. We would definitely come back again.

Home away from home

My family looks forward to returning each year to this beautiful spot. This was our 3rd year. Fran is an unusually gracious and generous owner/property manager. Her first instinct is always, how can I make this experience better for you? She also has unusually great taste and the house is beautifully appointed and fully stocked. The view is gorgeous.

5 Stars – Perfect Waterfront Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful waterfront home! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how spotlessly clean everything was — truly one of the cleanest vacation rentals we've ever stayed in. The home is fully stocked with all the amenities you could possibly need, making it easy to settle in and relax right away.The decor is stylish, modern, and thoughtfully put together, giving the entire space a warm and inviting feel. Whether we were enjoying our coffee on the deck with a view of the water or winding down in the comfortable living area, everything was just perfect.You can really tell the owners put a lot of care into making this home a top-notch experience for their guests. Highly recommend — we would absolutely stay here again!

Paradise on the Sound

This house is a gem, the water views from the front bedrooms, kitchen and main living area are spectacular! You are as close to the water as can be, we felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. The house is perhaps the best stocked house we have stayed at - from the kitchenware to the pantry (oils, spices) to the waterfront equipment including kayaks, paddle boards, floats and more! We enjoyed walking out to Salt Island during low tide. The owner was accessible and communicative. Great experience all around!

Our Siblings Weekend

We are so happy to have spent this time together in this beautiful waterfront home. Comfortable and homey but spacious and relaxing. The view of the island with the changing tides was great to watch throughout the day. The kitchen was well stocked with the few things we forgot. Fran was a great communicator and made the whole process easy and her welcome bottle of wine was a nice gift. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!!

Our feel good place

After selling our own home on the beach, we became summer renters. Our first 3 experiences were disappointing. But I knew this would be different as soon as we walked in. Next summer will be our 3rd time -- and I hope to continue. The place is well designed, well furnished and very well stocked. It's a beautiful location and Fran is incredibly responsive whenever anything comes up. This summer will be our 3rd - and I hope to continue.

Wonderful experience all around

Salt Island Inn is gorgeous, comfortable, well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave. Watching the tide ebb and flow from the spacious and comfortable living and dining area in the house, and from the outdoor patio with fire pit, was meditative and fun ... all at once. And we can't say enough wonderful things about Fran. She is communicative, flexible, and just easy to work with. We changed our reservation dates early on and she walked me through the process making it very easy, and she was available for any questions we had during our stay. The best property manager we ever worked with in VRBO. We hope to come back!!

Beautiful property

Beautiful views, house. Just as portrayed in the pictures. Very comfortable. Nice to have the kayaks, swim right out the back door etc…. Responsive host. It is very close to other houses though and we had renters next door that partied the entire night. The host did call the other owners when we spoke to her the next day and the rest of the stay was fine. This seemed likely to be out of the ordinary though so don’t think it should interfere with decisions to rent this property as it was great in every other way.

Breathtaking Ocean Views

Our family was beyond excited when this property became available for our yearly vacation to the CT shoreline. The pictures were amazing & we were instantly hooked…but nothing compares to being there in person. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning & like nothing we had experienced in prior vacation homes over the past 40 years! Watching the sun set while being cooled by breezes off the water was priceless. The house is very well-appointed, comfortable & chock full of amenities that made our stay that much more enjoyable. From the king-sized beds and kayaks to the gas fire pit, every detail is so well thought out for the maximum enjoyment of those who stay at the Salt Island Inn. It’s also close to many restaurants and places to shop in Westbrook, Clinton & Old Saybrook. We can’t wait to come back again next year!!
