Was cute, and perfect for our short stay! Was so close to the Beach it was amazing. We spent most of our time at the beach so for that the space was perfect even though small!!

Nice location, easy beach access, overall pretty quiet. The place was clean but the carpet definitely needs replacing. It was pretty dirty which makes the entire room look bad. We would stay again if carpet was replaced. Host was available when needed.

Easy access to the beach. Quiet area. Shower was amazing after a long day at the beach. Inexpensive,Quiet & pet-friendly. It is an old building and is in the process of being updated/remodeled. Some tight spaces,but perfect for two people.

We needed a place to sleep and some cooking and close to the sand and was perfect for that.

You get exactly what they advertise online. It was clean and easy access and the host was easy to contact and quick to respond.

Quiet, close to beach

This unit is in a quiet area, very close to beach! The unit is as described - not new or fancy. Everything was functional. No problems to note - had a few minor issues (light bulb out, etc) that I messaged the owner about after leaving.

I did not feel the photos of the he outside of property accurately reflected the setting of the prop

But the photos are of the actual property. How can they not reflect our studio? Perhaps your "feelings" should not have anything to do with it? Perhaps reality should come in to play?

Norfolk Beach

The biggest complaint I might have would be the air conditioner (window unit) struggled mightily to get the room cool. It was 90+ everyday and my wife and I are not accustomed to these temps. That would be my only let down for the price and location. Other than that the rental was as described and George sounded like a heck of a good guy.

This place was disgusting and terrible. It was advertised as being older but clean. It was older for sure, and NOT clean. The carpet was badly stained, there was dusty “fur” on the artwork due to lack of cleaning, and the mattress had very nasty stains on it. The stove has burned the fridge and the bathroom was barely passable. The towels provided looked like they were 20 years old and the furniture was falling apart. “Outdoor space” was filled with broken and mostly buried stuff. No place to put bags. Space heater for heat. The downstairs unit was playing the tv and music loud enough to hear the words and there was the distinctive smell of pot coming in. We stayed one night only because it was too late to find something else. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Told host we had done checkout procedures and asked for a refund. He gave us a run around and has not given us a refund.

This guest claimed that the reservation was made by accident and 18 days later requested a full refund. Begged over and over for a full refund. Once we informed her the reality of responsibility of making a reservation and such, she became abusive and threatening. Even VRBO recognized her scheme. She never showed up and then left this review.

My wife and I were excited to stay here for our honeymoon. Finding the property, parking, and check-in were all easy and convenient.Unfortunately, our first impression was disappointing. The exterior looked poorly maintained, with peeling paint and an overall unkempt appearance. Inside, we were immediately met with a musty smell and a heavily stained entry carpet.While we could see the charm the owners were aiming for with the original furniture and beach décor, the overall condition made it difficult to enjoy our stay. There were sloppy paint jobs, missing light bulbs, poorly fitted curtains (one window appeared to be covered with dish towels), and the unit did not feel clean. The stovetop had left a burn mark on the refrigerator, the oven didn’t work, and the bed was uncomfortable. The fitted sheet and carpet also felt gritty, making it difficult to sleep.We ended up leaving a night early because we were so uncomfortable. As we were leaving the property, we had an uncomfortable encounter in the parking lot that left us feeling unsafe and reinforced our decision to leave early.The highlight of the stay was the beautiful access to the Chesapeake Bay. Unfortunately, the condition of the property outweighed the positives, and we would not stay here again.

Upset & irritated

Good location.We enjoyed having a private beach.The property inside wasn't what we expected as far as cleanliness & safety.We understand pets are allowed & not every renter is meticulous as we are.The carpet is very stained & is probably full of germs & should be replaced with rubber flooring.2nd night the bathroom sink fell off the wall onto my fiance' foot & leg.Took 3 nights to get a tub stopper.We left 3 days earlier than planned.Never got a direct answer if a refund would be given to us for leaving early & none has been received at the time of this written statement.Wouldn't recommend this particular property.

easy beach access, directly on main road, travel light, perfect for a couple days

Basic needs met. Check in process was seamless, issues were immediately resolved, excellent communication. Stairs were challenging with dog and supplies, perfect spot if your day would be spent mostly at the beach

Short walk to beach! Good space overall and easy access parking

This building overall could definitely use some updates especially on the exterior. But overall, a decent and clean place to stay with your animals or partner! I wouldn’t recommend this property for longer trips. The bathroom is quite small and you can only shower, the tub does nothing hold water. The shower head defiantly could be replaced but nothing too terrible! The bedroom is very cozy and there is not much sound from room-to-room. We occasionally heard cars or animals but not enough to bother our stay! The owners do a great job with responding and making sure the property stays clean. GREAT spot for an ocean-side trip with another person/ pet or just a quick-visit!

I wouldn’t recommend this location for more than two people but for me and my husband it was perfect

We were visiting Norfolk to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and the life of our dog, Petunia. She is reaching the end of her life and had never been to the beach so we wanted to remedy that. The location of this apartment was perfect. We were able to walk her right onto the beach and play with her until she was ready to rest. She loved it and we truly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Bar-q bbq is directly across the street located in Bold Mariner Brewing and it is truly excellent bbq. The beer was delicious too. There’s a 7-11 within walking distance for whatever you may need. The only issue we had was getting petunia up the steep stairs but it didn’t put a damper on our stay or her spirit. It was truly lovely to be within close proximity of such a lovely, peaceful beach. We plan to visit again next year.
