Enjoy a truly unique escape with an exclusive private tour of a 13th-century castle, available only to guests and normally closed to the public - an unforgettable highlight of your stay.

Our home offers everything you need for a relaxing self catering break. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area make mealtimes easy and enjoyable, while the comfortable living room features cosy sofa and armchairs and a flat screen TV and a traditional peat open fire for laid back evenings.

Stunning views of the ocean and located just outside of town and the hustle and bustle yet close enough to enjoy it all. Ann was a gracious host that made us feel at home immediately. You will not regret a stay here!

Our host Ann was great. She was easy to communicate with and had everything ready for us including some fresh food. She pulled out a big bin of legos for our kids to play with and they really enjoyed them! Beautiful views! Easy to get to Doolin. Great washer and dryer. Would recommend!

The cottage is fantastic, very spacious with amazing views (and the laundry machines were well received after travelling in hotels for over a week prior).The cottage was super clean! No weird smells, had everything we needed plus some extras! And Ann was wonderful, informative and so friendly.The only thing would be the extra nominal charge for utilities upon check out. More than it being something we aren’t accustomed to in Canada, and although a nominal amount, it felt and unnecessary add as the cost to stay was already at premium rate. BUT this would not stop me from booking again, or highly recommending it.

I completely understand that changing separately for utilities may be unfamiliar to guests from Canada, as practices can vary between countries. For clarity to future guests, our listing does explain that Oil and Electricity are changed separately based on actual usage, and i also reiterate this prior to your arrival. As you and your 3 friends had been travelling for some time and had a considerable amount of laundry to catch up on I'm glad you were able to make good use of the washing machine and dryer during your stay. The utility charge simply reflected the actual oil and electricity used during your visit, rather than being and additional fixed fee. Thank you again for staying with us. I'm very pleased to hear that the charge wouldn't prevent you from booking again or recommending us, and you would be very welcome back anytime. Regards Ann

We absolutely loved our stay and are already planning a return trip. The house is so wonderfully equipped with anything you may need and the town is just close enough for a bite to eat or a pint. Ann was so friendly.

Such a lovely home, beautiful views of the ocean etc. all rooms are ensuite and so very comfortable. Host is wonderful ! Nicest sun room especially ! Whole house was perfect for us a group of seven. Wish we had stayed longer!

We loved Ireland and we loved this home. It was exceptional - comfortable, super cute, well appointed, gorgeous views, great location and Ann was awesome. She met us with a fire lit, fresh irish bread on the counter and a few necessities in the frig. The kitchen was well stocked and she was always available. The castle tour was the icing on the cake. You must stay here.

This was our second time staying at this property as it is excellent, spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. Ann is a gracious and commincative host and we will stay here again when visiting SW Ireland.

Exactly what was needed!!

Our stay was magnificent. Ann was extra accommodating when our timetables got tight and was very helpful. The house was so comfortable and welcoming and the area was beautiful!

Amazing cottage with fantastic view!

This cottage was all we hoped it would be and more! It was clean, cozy and comfortable and perfectly located for the things we wanted to do in the Doolin area. The ocean view is spectacular! Our host Ann was very friendly and helpful, and truly went above and beyond what we normally experience when renting a property.

Stunning view! Great Cottage!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Gentian Cottage! Ann was a most gracious host and helped us in so many ways. We were able to travel to other parts of Ireland and use the cottage as our hub as well as partake in the local charm of Doolin. Would absolutely recommend this wonderful home to everyone.

Little slice of Irish heaven

This was our first home on our trip to Ireland and Ann was an incredibly warm host who went above and beyond including celebrating an engagement in our family! The home was clean, provided everything we needed, had beautiful views and truly felt like "home" for our 3 days. Thank you again, Ann and family, for such a special welcome to Ireland - we'll be back for sure!

Wonderful 2 week Stay at Gentian Cottage

The cottage is located outside of Doolin in the quiet countryside with spectacular sunset views of the Atlantic and Aran Islands. The cottage is clean and well maintained by the fabulous owner Ann, who was always available to answer any questions. Our 2 week stay at the cottage with family was a great home base to explore all of County Claire, Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. Fabulous stay.

The home is lovely with an excellent view. I don't think the pictures do it justice. And the location was great.Ann is a wonderful host who had everything ready for us including a fire ready to light and some initial necessities in the fridge. Ann couldn't have been more helpful.

I am living in this area for the last 25 years and grew up in Kilfenora only 10 miles from here went to the local Secondary School in Liscoonvarna . I married my husband Colin in 1995 where we now work on the family farm. We have 3 gorgeous boys. Colin was born in this area and truly loves living here as we all do its very special and we love to welcome guests to our cottage so they may experience a bit of Heaven on earth. We are always close by to assist in anyway and to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay

If it's the long colourful sunsets that truly take your breath away, its hard to believe the mixture of colours you see from the cottage. You just want it to last forever its truly magical.

While staying at the cottage we provide a complimentary tour of Ballinalacken Castle (for stays of 2 nights and longer) which dates back to the late 13th Century as its closed to the public a tour can be arranged when you get here.
