You must be 25 years of age or older to rent this home.
This home is located in the Johnson-Crawford subdivision. If you are looking for a great home in a family friendly area on the beach side, take a look at Amy's Dream. This home has everything you will need on your vacation. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would have in your own home to cook your favorite meals. The living room is very comfy and the perfect spot to gather with your family. This home has WIFI for your convenience. Upstairs, you will discover a cozy space in the loft, for diving into a great book or relaxing! The primary bedroom has a king with an attached bathroom. Bedroom two has a Queen, and bedroom three has two twin beds.
Outside, you will find a nice deck for lounging with a distant view of the beach. When you are ready for some beach fun in the sun, it is just a short walk, golf cart, or vehicle ride to the beach.
Even when provided, internet access TV/cell service can be unreliable on the Bolivar Peninsula. We are a rural community. We apologize, but Bolivar Escapes cannot guarantee that these amenities will be working during your stay, and cannot offer refunds for disruption of these services. This home might have an outdoor camera(s) to monitor the exterior of the home. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting or obscuring the camera(s) is prohibited and may result in the guest being evicted without refund of outstanding nights’ rent. If a home has a lift or elevator, it is not for the renter's use unless otherwise stated in comments or with permission from Bolivar Escapes. Sofa bed is not to be used by renters.
We provide linens and bath towels in every house, and standard beds are made for your arrival. Linens will be provided in the home for all sleeper sofas, trundles, and pull-out bedding. Paper products, other than toilet tissue and paper towels, and cleaning supplies are not included.
There is a starter pack consisting of the items below. Please bring anything else you will need:
1 roll of paper towels
3 white kitchen trash bags
2 dishwasher tab (if applicable)
2 laundry tab (if applicable)
1 small dish soap
1 dish sponge
2 rolls of toilet tissue per bathroom
Small bar hand soap per bathroom
1 trial size of shampoo/conditioner per full bath
1 beauty bar per bath
Small salt and pepper
Small cooking oil
There will also be a bath towel set for each guest
Don't forget the beach towels, bug spray, and sunscreen! Once booked, log into your guest guide for instructions on your home, beach rentals and things to do on the Peninsula.
All of our homes are located at Crystal Beach/Port Bolivar/Gilchrist. Not Galveston.

Great neighborhood for a family trip!

Our family takes a trip to Bolivar Peninsula every summer! This is our first time to rent Amy's dream. We usually rent Seashell Getaway but, unfortunately we rented this one instead because we thought it had a handicap lift whereas sea shell getaway does not. The kids enjoyed the house, especially my teenage daughter. She slept in the upstairs room on the loveseat, it was her own little getaway! The master bath was beautifully remodeled, the king size bed's box spring on one side was busted in the master and my husband and I slept lopsided the whole 5 nights. The rest of the house and furniture could use some updating. There is just enough soap, toilet paper, dishwasher liquid, trash bags etc. for a single use (travel stuff) so, you will need to purchase all those things at the dollar general or family dollar down the main street not far from the house. This house is located closer to the ferry WHICH RUNS 24 HOURS A DAY, the ferry does NOT shut down. The house is in a slower paced area away from the party life of Crystal Beach, which was a plus for us and our kids, we don't like crowded places. One issue we had was that in the photos of the rental property it showed a lift which is motorized, it is like an outdoor elevator of sorts. We were under the impression (from photo) that it was used for handicap people, WHICH IS WHY we rented this particular home. My brother is in a wheel chair and is an amputee and only has one leg. We found out the lift was not for renters use! So my brother had to HOP up and down the stairs EVERY time we went somewhere. He got really worn out and it was so dangerous. We had drove 10 hours for this trip and couldn't get a refund unfortunately, so we managed the best we could. We called the rental company several times and they finally said we could use it IF we paid an extra $150! My brother wouldn't let me pay it since I had foot the bill for this whole trip for the family and he didn't have the money to pay it himself. We were also told it was strictly for luggage and groceries, NOT for people. I complained and said the lift should not be in the pictures of the advertised rental property and there should be something in the info about it not being accessible to renters. Other than that the house was okay.

We are very happy you enjoyed the home. If you have a special need please always contact us and we can check the availability of our homes with elevators. Most homes do have cargo lifts due to the height of the cabins, they are not used for people due to liability issues. We have a few that will allow the use under special circumstances and then there is a charge of $200. Only homeowners may approve this. We want your stay to be as leisurely as possible so we provide 2 toilet tissue per bathroom, paper towels, 3 trash bags, dish liquid, 3 dishwasher pods, 3 laundry pods and hand soaps to maintain for a few days. We list these items that are in our starter pack on the site where you review the home you are interested in. We look forward to your return to the peninsula.

Nice place to stay but missing details!!!!

For the most part we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few things that could be added that could have made it more enjoyable. The house was clean, but the cleaner didn't sweep the kitchen table before our arrival because we located tortilla chips underneath the kitchen table. This place sleeps 6 comfortably, but there are limited bath towels. We had 5 people there and we quickly ran out. This property does come with a clothes washer and dryer, but there was no laundry detergent. The same thing can be said for the dish washer. This property did not have hand soap, shampoo, or dish soap to hand wash dishes. If you plan to stay here, be sure to pack these items with you. Crystal Beach is connected to Galveston by a boat ferry. There are limited grocery stores and restaurants near Crystal Beach. During peak hours the ferry wait can be up to 2 hours long, so plan accordingly. I think the ferry runs until 10pm. If you miss the ferry from Galveston, it is 1 1/2 hour drive around to Crystal Beach. We have stayed at several Vrbo's over the past few years and most all of them provide hand soap, laundry and dish detergent, and shampoo.

Entergy ruined our stay

The property wasnt very clean and we did a bit of cleaning when we arrived. But the electric company that services the area is our largest complaint. We were not notified until we passed the cancelation deadline that there was to be a planned power outage that should last less than 12hrs right in the middle of our stay. The power was cut on time and 33hrs later the power is still not fixed. Due to the mass exedous, the line wait for the ferry was over 2hrs. We wound up getting a hotel in galveston just to have air conditioning. While this is no fault of the property owner, it was part of the package we recieved and paid for. We lost food and the last half of our vacation. And incured added cost to compensate for the loss of our rental and food.
