Awesome stay. A Getaway listing that even exceeded our expectations. Very quiet, peaceful and so relaxing sitting out by the fire with the creek rambling by. Val and Chuck were so helpful and informative. 5 star stay!

You won’t find better hosts anywhere. They were excellent in every way. Cute small cabin that didn’t lack for anything. Overlooks a gorgeous running creek. Secluded and private. We loved it and will be returning again.

The hosts are part of what makes this place so wonderful. Valda and Chuck greeted us and gave us a brief history of the property and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is nestled in the woods right off the interstate and is peaceful from the moment you step foot out of the car. It is also conveniently located about 20 minutes from two different small towns. There is ample outdoor hang out space, a grill, and outdoor fireplace. The inside is just what you need for a getaway. It was clean and everything we needed while there was in the cabin! All of the basics such as cups, plates, cooking utensils, etc. were easily locatable, there was not a thing we needed. There was also board games, DVDs, wifi, and book for your use. You can hear the creek running from right outside of the cabin! We will certainly be back and cannot recommend this location enough.

Chuck and Val, are amazing, if we could give it more than 10 stars we would! The outdoor fireplace was our favorite and I think we got the best sleep ever with the windows open listening to the creek!Amazing place and we would absolutely return! The history and stories they share make it even more special! Thank you both and Robel from Airy for an amazing long weekend! See you next time!

Had an amazing stay at the Hideaway cabin. It was cozy, comfortable and just what we hoped for. Fantastic scenic views nestled next to running creek and secluded forest. Perfect place to relax also conveniently located to Erwin and Asheville. Absolutely awesome hosts with a genuine concern we had the best experience possible.

This little gem is the perfect place for a getaway. Chuck and Valda were the most amazing hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay special. This may have been our first time staying at the Hideaway but it will not be our last!!!!

Valda and Chuck are marvelous hosts with a stunning mountain property. We and our dogs did not want to leave this beautiful, tranquil woodland retreat. Everything was perfect and we cannot wait to come back.

Chuck and Val’s place is positively beautiful and peaceful. It’s the perfect getaway for an extended weekend to relax and fit in some good hikes around the area. They were so warm and welcoming and added so many little perfect touches around the cabin and property. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I had a most wonderful stay! The HIDEAWAY was just what I was looking for, a cozy cabin in the woods that was still close enough to the major highways to take me to where I needed to be while I was in Tennessee.Valda and Chuck were welcoming and had so many sweet extra touches that made my stay even more special! I would DEFINATELY return, if I am ever planning another trip to this area.

Great Mountain Retreat

The hideaway is a great spot for a quiet weekend retreat. Chuck and Valda were delightful. The cabin is clean and cozy and was perfect for us!

We ( my spouse, me, and our dog) had a lovely stay over Christmas. Chuck and Valda were wonderful hosts and Chuck graciously helped two city folks with building an outdoor fire. Our dog loved lounging on the deck and we had everything we needed to cook a few holiday meals. 10/10!

We had a great stay at Hide away from it all! The place was so beautiful and so quiet! The beauty around this cabin is awesome and the great history of the area is all around that land. The hosts were so nice and accomodating, they even left cookies and homemade ice cream. We will be returning soon!

It was a great getaway. The sound of the creek all day and being able to open the windows was definitely worth it! Chuck and Valda were wonderful and made the stay very enjoyable.

Perfect for a getaway!

We stayed a long weekend and it was fantastic. Valma & Chuck are very hospitable and will fill you in on all the history and everything you need to know about the surrounding areas. Perfect for a couples weekend or for the family.

Getaway for a Short-Stay

Fantastic location and the hosts were amazing! Excellent stories about the history of the area coupled with great views and sounds of a forest! My wife and myself will be returning for sure!

Beautiful location, and hosts Chuck and Valda go above and beyond. The cabin was clean, and the kitchen had everything you could ever need for cooking! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. Our 2 dogs loved running around, and playing in the creek, and even made friends with the resident dog! The property has so much history - and I'm sure we only scratched the surface! We will definitely be back.

The cabin was beautiful and the perfect place to escape into the mountains! Chuck and Valda were the most gracious hosts. This property exceeded our expectations and we’ll definitely be back!!

This is a quaint little studio cabin with full kitchen and internet. The outdoor patio is great with lots of space to hang out and a fireplace. Firewood was provided for us. The creek is down a steep slope, but there are ways to get to it if you are keen to explore. Chuck and Valda met us on our arrivala nd gave a lot of great information about the history of the area and our cabin in particular. It was like staying with a favorite Aunt and Uncle than with strangers.
