Excellent Stay

This property was clean and in excellent condition. The kitchen had everything you could need. The outdoor grill was clean and a pleasure to use. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. Everything seemed recently updated. I highly recommend this property.

Graduation weekend

We had a great stay!! The house was perfect. We had everything we needed. We had 7 people and we had plenty of room for everyone. The house was nice and clean. The beds were comfortable. Communication was great with Brian. Made for a great graduation trip! Thank you!

Detroit NFL Draft bachelor party

Fantastic digs in Royal Oak. 8 buddies in town for the NFL draft and though we didnt spend ample time in the property outside of sleep, it was amazing. Very clean and close to everything in downtown RO. Tons of space even for 8 adult dudes. Would 1000% rent again it the opportunity arises.

Detroit Alumni Returning Home

Moved away from family following a medical dream in the West but alas family funerals bring people back home. Renting a comfortable, clean, modern cottage home for fellowship, meals and family time was the perfect antidote for loss. This was so much better than staying in a hotel. Close to the highway. In a safe neighborhood and a district that had food, grocery stores, restaurants opened at a good hour. Owner went above and beyond. Everything you need available. Spacious. Quiet. And backyard peaceful.

Above and beyond a great experience

Home was better than expected and very clean. We couldn’t come up with one thing needing improvement! Brian was very helpful with the process and offering great recommendations. Best experience by far!

Playoff Family Go Detroit Lions

All family member travled from out of town with the first snow storm. I phoned Brain to let him know after 11pm check in. He had the lights turned on when we arrived. We enjoyed the welcome basket!!! The house was just what we needed for our gathering. So much room and comfort. The house was clean with all the amenities of home. I would stay at this property again most definitely! Thank you again Brian

Great MI stay

Perfect house for our weekend football trip. House was super clean and newly renovated. Great neighborhood for walking to restaurants and bars in Royal Oak. Host was super friendly and provided recommendations for us. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect!

There were four of us, all adult women. Needed a place to stay last minute. The owner was quick to respond and very accommodating of our last minute request. Even let us tour the house before signing the contract. The house was spotless, and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for food prep and linens. The location was great. Quiet neighborhood, just 15 minutes from downtown. There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within a mile of the house. Would definitely rent it again.

Outstanding!

This home was the nicest rental we’ve ever stayed in. Everything is of the highest quality from the finishes to the bedding to the kindness and thoughtfulness of the hosts. They thought of everything down to the last detail and even dropped off an amazing thanksgiving cake as a gift to our family (we were there for thanksgiving). Will definitely stay again when we’re back in the area!

The property was clean and well supplied with everything we might need. Brian had toys available for our toddlers as well as a crib and high chair. We were able to walk to many of our wedding events and in town for dinner. We were a party of 6 adults with 2 little ones and we had plenty of space. Recommend this property!

Great experience

This property and host was great for our entire family. All was well thought out and everything we needed was avaliable. We walked into the house with a welcome basket that seemed to be made for us like they knew us personally. They even had toys, crib, highchair and inflatable beds ready. There were also plug covers to keep my little one safe. Everyone in the family kept saying this is the best place they have stayed in and everything that we needed they had for us. It was a great experience and we would definitely book with this property and host again!

Wonderful Homes and neighborhood

Our family and friends really enjoyed this home and neighborhood. The house was perfect for our one year old with family and friends. The layout was just what we needed. The host was very quick to answer all of our questions and went above and beyond. From the welcome gifts to the highchair, toys, bathtub, game area and crib for our one year old. We highly recommend for family and friends and will definitely book this again. Thank you for everything!

Great stay in Royal Oak

We are originally from the Metro Detroit area and now live overseas…we rented the place for approximately 3 weeks for an annual visit this year (we hadn’t returned to Michigan since the Covid pandemic). We were interested in the place as it is walkable distance to Royal Oak and close to Ferndale (where I used to have a home) and wanted to be in a good, central location. The core group was our family of four, but we also had other family members staying with us from time to time (i.e. visiting nieces/grandparents, etc.). We loved the place! There are 4 spacious bedrooms; the master has a great walk-in shower with dual showerheads and the bed is top-notch (we have a Serta at home and when we normally travel, our backs are normally ‘wrecked’ – not in this case). The other beds were also comfy! They really thought of everything – the fridge was stocked with bottled water, Keurig had a tray of coffee pods under it, there was a welcome basket, etc. There was also extra toilet paper, paper towels, laundry products, etc. We also appreciated the large amount of towels, bath items, etc. The place was wonderfully clean, well-appointed, and set-up really nice (large dining table, ample kitchen island, etc.). Fridge was huge, washer/dryer were modern, etc. The backyard is also a great little oasis, with cornhole, a Weber grill, etc. The host was kind enough to let us host BBQs with friends and family, as it is very hard to see all the people you need to see!

The only place we’ll stay from now on!

I want to gatekeep this property but I won’t :) My mom is super picky about where she stays on vacation - it’s 5 star resorts or nothing for her. She LOVED this place. Everything is newly remodeled, the entire house is fully stocked with literally everything you could need. It’s truly like being at home! Location is so centrally located and perfectly nestled off of Woodward in one of my dream historic neighborhoods (and I’m a native Detroiter!) They had everything that we needed for kids as well - high chair, toys, crib, plates/cups, etc. I cannot speak more highly about the hospitality, ease of check in/out, communication from our hosts. Not to mention our adorable welcome gift! The best hosts I’ve ever encountered. We won’t be staying anywhere else when we visit friends and family at home in the D!

Family event

This property is amazing and just what we were looking for. In town for a family wedding, the happy couple and other family members stayed in this absolutely beautiful home. From the moment you open the doors we knew this was going to be an amazing experience. There are multiple bedrooms upstairs (mattresses are SO comfortable) and in each there is a TV, dresser/closet and even air purifiers. There is also a bonus bedroom in the basement - next to another great room - perfect for the young married couple. It was almost like a separate apartment for them. Everything was stocked that we needed. The beautiful appliances, cabinetry/counters, and comfortable furniture were also lovely. There is a large dining table and large island. Again, perfect for morning coffee and breakfast. There is even a steamer for that last-minute dress preparation - such a life saver! Just a mile or two from downtown Royal Oak, which is perfect for many dining, coffee, shopping options. The locked gate for cars was great. And the front porch (complete with twinkle lights) for morning coffee was great. Backyard complete with grill and picnic table. The host, Brian, checked in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful home to relax in then this is your place. We will be back!

Lovely Stay

Property had everything we needed from excellent choices in the kitchen to extra towels, bedding and a fantastic laundry room, great private yard and quaint comfy porch! Plenty of room in driveway for extra cars. Fabulous!

Exceptional Home for Groups w/ an Outstanding Host!

I hosted a buddies' get-together of 5 and this home was perfect for us: pristine & updated throughout, lovely backyard, a great walkable neighborhood a short drive from downtown Detroit. Brian has clearly put alot of thought into all the details and it shows. (Some examples: lawn games and string lights in the backyard, a truly stocked kitchen with all the staples & tools, and a clear-yet-thorough guide to the home!) Much like the other reviews say, Brian is an exceptional host and clearly cares about guests enjoying the place. From the seamless arrival to the pleasant check-in texts to see how we were enjoying ourselves, he was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend for families or friend groups!

Highly Recommend 304 Oakdale

We loved our stay in Royal Oak, MI. The property is spacious, clean and well appointed. It is perfect for a small family gathering such as ours. It is also in a charming neighborhood. Our host, Brian, was terrific with great communication prior to our stay and periodic check-ins during our stay to make sure everything was ok. He definitely went above and beyond to ensure that our birthday celebration weekend with family was special and memorable.

I'm currently a Vice President at a Private Equity Firm in midtown Manhattan. I'm originally from Westchester, NY and I grew up in Troy, MI. I graduated as a Michigan State Spartan in 2009 (go green!) and after college I’ve spent time in both the Midwest and East Coast. I previously lived in Chicago for 3 years and I've spent the last 10 years living in NYC (currently reside in the Financial District).

I own and operate 2 immaculate rental properties in Royal Oak. My wonderful parents help me run both properties, which they love doing as it keeps them busy (both are retired and live in Michigan).
