East Cape near San Jose del Cabo, Private Pool + Ocean Views + Great Beaches

Casa Leluya is a solar-powered desert retreat in Zacatitos on the beautiful and quiet East Cape, 20 minutes from San José del Cabo. Designed by Canadian architect Javier Campos and featured in Canadian Architect, Wallpaper and New York Magazine, it has a pool, 360° ocean and mountain views, fast Wi-Fi and cell service. Playa del Zacatitos, one of the area's few swimmable beaches, is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Sleeping
The main house has two upstairs queen bedrooms and three baths, and sleeps 4. For 5-6 guests, we open the private casita, which has its own queen bed and full bathroom. It suits couples, friends, or anyone who wants extra privacy.

Cool without air conditioning
The house is designed without A/C. Perforated walls, open sight lines and ceiling fans move the ocean breeze through the rooms day and night. In the hottest months, expect warm days and plan pool and beach time accordingly.

Around Zacatitos

10-minute walk: Zac's Bar & Grill, Central Station convenience store, and the beach.
Nearby: Flora Farms, Acre, Monte Cardón and Tamarindos.
Zacatitos has a small café and organic farmers markets several times a week.
San José del Cabo's galleries, restaurants and Thursday Art Walk are 20 minutes away.
Further up the East Cape: Shipwrecks and Nine Palms surf breaks, and Cabo Pulmo National Park for snorkeling and diving.

Wonderful experience

The home is stunning. Amazing views in every direction. Sits perfectly on its site. The ocean, the mountains and desert are magical. We would definitely return.

Beautiful space

Convenient location within the Zacatitos community and easy to find. Beautiful open concept living space with a lot of additional outdoor area extending the usable space. Beautiful ocean view in the distance with whale watching, if you remember your binoculars!

The home is beautiful and very private. The view is magnificent. The property is about a 15 minute walk to the beach. The beach is private and not very populated. There are burros roaming the area that are fun to stop and pet. The house is well appointed and very comfortable for three couples.

'We tried to create forms that are very simple and mirror the desert. The houses have the most minimal but essential sense of domestic luxury. It's all there; it's just very pared down' [Javier Campos, Architect]

The house is eco-friendly with stunning 360 views of the ocean and the desert. It runs 100% on solar power. It does not require air-conditioning, because the unique design allows for cooling airflows throughout.

This is true indoor/outdoor living in a unique landscape. The unique design accommodates ambient airflows from the environment. The 2 main bedrooms are upstairs separated by a hallway. If you book for more than 4 guests, we will open up the brand new add-on casita with an additional bedroom and private bathroom for 2 additional guests.
