Gorgeous fall escape

We loved the garden house! It’s really charming, and perfect for an upstate getaway. Our kids loved swimming with koi in the natural pool and feeding the horses. And the setting is just gorgeous. Thank you Duane and Andrea! We loved our stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this dreamy animal-filled oasis. The setting is so peaceful and happy. Wish we had discovered it before our son's college graduation so we'd have more excuses to come back!

The area is beautiful. The grounds around are unique and calming a great connection to the outdoors, but as my low rating for accuracy of the website, there’s no heat and our rooms ,except the bathroom, are exposed to the outdoor wind. The two mornings temperatures we were to be there were around freezing and below freezing. We only stayed the one night because of this. There are also no locks on the doors, only slide bolts from the inside, so the building is unable to be secured when you’re not in it.
The bathroom has a small under desk type heater
It truly is a beautiful looking place

Lovely property and accommodations. Very family friendly, especially for kids who love animals. Our Rustic Garden House was eclectically decorated and had everything we needed. The property manager was new and we had never stayed there before so we had a couple of miscommunications but she was very responsive and we worked everything out. The one thing I would suggest is that they have a map made of the property indicating the location of the various accommodations and buildings. It was very confusing that first day. Overall it was just the safe and peaceful week we had hoped and our grandkids even made new friends!

Book this property in July or August and it will be a magical setting. It should not be offered in late May. There is open air exchange to the outside through a space between the roof and the walls. With temperatures around 45 outside, it was extremely uncomfortable. Extra blankets were provided upon my complaint, but we had to be wrapped in blankets and fully clothed including shoes at all times. In addition, there were birds nesting in the corner of the cottage in an area where there was a break in the wire mesh that filled the space between the roof and the walls. There was bird poop on many of the pillows and on the mirror and floor. The birds were actually sitting on the couch when we come back after a day out. There were also several dead carpenter bees on the futon that I had to clean up for sleeping.On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable and the decor was beautifully eclectic and peaceful. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with the most tranquil outdoor seating. Weather can not be predicted, but the description should be very clear that cold will ruin this stay. Maybe a little indoor fireplace...?

Pictures online misleading, family party happening on property

We paid a premium for the holiday weekend because my daughter was in town and we decided to splurge on something nice for the family. We showed up and there were 28–and no joke the host told us there were 28 grandkids- plus parents and friends all partying right next to our cabin. The listing made it seem like we were going to be alone in a tranquil setting with just our family. That was not the case at all. We thought the cabin would be much larger given the price and the way it looked on vrbo. It’s a cool spot overall— very pretty and lots of cool farm animals. just don’t reserve this for the Fourth of July or any other holiday if you’re expecting privacy.

Hi Valerie, Im so sorry the Garden house failed to meet your expectations! We had no idea you were so unhappy and would have appreciated some communication before this point. ALL our listings clearly state that Sunday funday neighborhood swimming is always from 2-7 every Sunday regardless of holidays. The pool is also open for our small community from 2-6 Monday-Thursday. Closed to community and open to paying guests ONLY Friday and Saturdays. Of course our guests can swim at anytime from 9am to 9pm everyday and schedule their pool time according to their expectations. *Sunday funday sometimes coincides with Sunday guest check ins. That is a given. However by 7pm everyone is out of the water and packed up to go. The 4th of July and the celebration of it is also specifically commented upon in all our listings discriptions on every listed site. No adjustments were needed on our part in that regard. I have however taken this opportunity you have provided me with to tweek a couple of things in our discription: -I separated all the paragraphs for easier reading and digestion of details. -Instead of describing this unit as "just steps away from the pool" I have added a bit more detail and the pros and cons of its location and have suggested other available units if one was in search of a more tranquil stay. I hope you and future guests find these adjustments helpful. We always appreciate great communication, our guest input and constructive criticism. Kind regards, Andrea I

Extremely charming, unique property

Loved the animals and the eclectic collection of items displayed everywhere. Rustic, bohemian chic without pretense. I would highly recommend this property and regret not bringing my younger kids. The shower drain had hair clumps from previous guests, which I removed. Otherwise, wonderful and memorable.
