The neighborhood initially gave us some hesitation, but it was fine overall. We stayed farther from downtown Charleston to save money, and the drive was manageable at just under 30 minutes. The host was friendly, responsive, and attentive when we reported an issue.Unfortunately, cleanliness and maintenance fell short. Upon arrival, the dishwasher was full, the dryer contained linens, trash had not been emptied, some dishes were dirty, and the bunk bed linens were damp. There was a persistent musty odor, especially in the bathroom and master bedroom. The Wi-Fi was weak, streaming services weren’t logged in as advertised, and basic amenities like shower toiletries and laundry detergent were missing. Towels were also limited for our group of four. The kitchen cabinets were sticky and disorganized, the ice maker didn’t work, and the beds were uncomfortable. Most concerning, there were visible water stains on the ceilings, and heavy rain caused significant leaking near the master bathroom door. Bedding beneath another stained ceiling area was damp again the next morning. The host responded promptly and attempted a temporary fix, and we didn’t notice further leaking during the next rain.Overall, the property met our basic needs for the trip, but the cleanliness, comfort, and maintenance issues detracted from our stay.
