We had a wonderful stay at Herring house. Easy beach access. Absolutely breathtaking views. The house had everything we needed. It was perfect for my family. Teens to toddlers enjoyed it. I can’t recommend it enough. I didn’t even pull out the beach wagon, it was just as easy to make an extra trip if needed. We did rent baby gates from a place in Port St Joe to put at both staircases for the toddler.

We had an amazing stay at The Herring House in Port St. Joe. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and even better than the photos. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway.The location was perfect—peaceful, close to the beach, and convenient for exploring the area. Check-in was smooth, and the host was responsive and helpful throughout our stay.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend The Herring House to anyone visiting Port St. Joe.

Very well appointed, clean house. There is another unit next door that is privately owned, the people were nice. This part of St. Joe Beach is not crowded. The views and sunsets were beautiful. We had some trouble with the door lock but the management team came out right away. Very good customer service!

Beach view was possibly best I’ve ever seen, especially sunset. Truly felt like being at home, clean, welcoming, cozy. Neighbors are great added charm :)

Absolutely beautiful house and location on the beach. Perfect for toddler and teen to run around on almost private beach. Highly recommend !!

Relaxing Vacation

This was a great location for a relaxing vacation. The property was well maintained and had all the items that we needed to cook. The decks on the property were ideal for looking at the beach. The beach was very quiet and not crowded. If you are looking for a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world, this is the place. We stayed 2 weeks.

Two week stay

The place was clean and the deck was wonderful. However, the layout with the Master suite loft is problematic because of noise from the common area if all of the guests are not on the same sleep schedule. Although at check-in it was indicated to us that a TV in a bedroom would be replaced during our stay, it was not.

We loved our time at this home! It was so peaceful and there was great communication between with the property manager for a minor hiccup we had. The sunsets are fabulous from the back deck and the home was very clean! There were a couple things that I felt weren’t very clear on the original listing. These were not issues for us, but I could absolutely see it mattering for others. This is not a freestanding house. It is connected to another unit. The only shared wall is the front porch but I don’t feel like that is clear on the listing. Again this did not matter to us that we had neighbors that were connecting, but I could see it mattering in certain situations. The photos are not very clear and I only knew because of the previous review. Also, this is somewhat pictured in the photos, but the master/largest bedroom is a loft so it is completely open to the living room. Again this did not matter for us, but I could see circumstances where it does matter. Lastly it is stated in the emails that they only provide one towel per person in the unit. Although we were prepared for that because of the emails, we have never stayed anywhere that only provided 7 towels for 7 people. Lots of washing and drying. :)Overall this home was PERFECT and we will absolutely stay again!

Just to clarify, the unit is a freestanding home; only the front stairs and boardwalk are shared, similar to what you may find with other condos or homes within communities in our area. The listing photos do show these shared areas, as well as the upstairs bedroom being an open loft. The exterior photos are intentionally focused on Herring House so there is no confusion about which unit guests are renting. We truly appreciate you thinking about what information may be helpful to other guests. We’re always happy to answer questions about any of the homes in our program so guests can be sure they’ve selected the right fit for their stay. As for towels, we provide a towel set for each registered guest, and additional towels are always available upon request through our office. SUPER CLEAN beautiful house on the beach

This home was one of the best places we have stayed on the beach. It’s right across the street from shipwreck restaurant so easy walk for a dinner. The beach is absolutely beautiful! Even with the red tide this time of year we absolutely enjoyed every second of our stay. The house is well equipped and organized. The beds are so comfortable. This is a huge deal as a lot of time mattresses can be hard or lumpy. The owners of this home have taken great care of this house and really want to make sure you have a great stay!!! The management company is very welcoming and make sure you are checked in with ease. Down town Port St Joe is just down the road with tons of restaurants and shopping! I HIGHLY recommend this as a stay for your perfect beach getaway.

A Home Away From Home!

We loved our stay at Herring House! It's clean, comfortable, cozy, and is perfectly located on the beach. When we first arrived to Herring House the house smelled strongly of the cleansing solution used. It was highly perfumey and was very overwhelming for us since we have allergies but once we let the windows up and let stay overnight, the fragrance eventually left out. I contacted the owners and they were so quick to respond and try to help. They even checked on us in the morning. I was so thankful for their consideration. That was the only bump we ran into. This house is equipped with pretty much everything and they let you know what to bring. It didn't take long for us to feel like we were home. We were steps away from the beach and had amazing views from every window. We could stay in and relax, go get something to eat (or cook if you want) and enjoy a movie. You seriously go without wanting here. We were extremely impressed with how stocked the kitchen was with equipment and utensils. I'd never seen such thought put into furnishing a kitchen. Our neighbors were sweet too. I enjoyed meeting them. The decorations are so beautiful. I felt I was in paradise and regretted our stay was so short. One of my favorite locations was sitting on the balcony upstairs looking out on the beach. We will love to come back to Herring House - we'll let the windows up. ;)
