This property is excellent for our multi-family vacations. Each apartment allows us to have our own individual space while still being able to come together for meals in the larger upstairs unit. The property is super close to multiple beaches, and we really enjoy fishing from the dock. The pool is always a hit with the kids after returning from a day at the beach. This is our third time staying here, and we always enjoy our visits!

Had a wonderful week at the gecko house, the house was perfect for our trip, clean, super well equipped, I have been using Vrbo for many years and this was the best communication I have had, marti was fantastic, would highly recommend this house

It was perfect for us we had 4 family's and so close to the ocean and bay . You get beatiful sunrise at the bay and sunsets on the beach.

Even Better Than Expected

The house was even better than the description. Marti was an excellent host who communicated well with us and checked in regularly. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Marti had sweet welcome baskets for us when we arrived and the house was perfect. We hope to be back!

Family fun 2023

Great house, location, Marti had everything we needed. My whole family had fun being together and had individual spaces as well. Kayaks were a blast, we saw baby turtles, dolphin and manatees❤️🐬🐢

Great place for large extended family

This property was amazing and had it all for our very large crew: dock, easy beach access, beach carts, chairs, pool, grill, bikes! It was an awesome set up for our family which included 4 married daughters, grandkids , teens and young adults. and also gave everyone a bit more privacy. We had a great place in the blue gecko and around the pool for evenings, lunch and dinner together! Marti was the best host we have ever worked with and was quick to help out and go above and beyond to line up a crockpot for us. And get the ac fixed right away. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely perfect!

The house was just as expected and more. Marti was the best hostess we have ever had for a vacation rental. We had everything we needed and more. The house was perfect for our "Fam" vacation (which is 2 unrelated, but best-friend, families who have been vacationing together since 1999). The separate sleeping areas gave everyone a place to get-away from the rest of the group when/if they wanted to. The private pool was a great place to relax after a day at the beach. The beach is very walkable and private. The dock is even more walkable. Everything was perfect...except that the week went by too quickly. Thank you Marti for everything!

Excellent outdoor space!

If you love the outdoors like our family (our 4 kids and all the grands), this is the home for you! Home was convienent to the bay and the Gulf. We spent daytime hours in natures’s swimming pool and evenings and nights at the home’s awesome pool area. The home was great for our individual family time,with its unique separate spaces. There were a few things that needed updating but that bother us-because we literally were outdoors so much! Marti was great to deal with and very responsive to messages. She has the home well stocked, from the kitchens and bathrooms to all of the things you need for a beach DAY! We could easily have flown here with just our personal items and not missed a thing for beach days.

Perfect Property for Families

If you are looking for a family friendly house in a great location in Manasota Key than this is it! This super clean house has everything you need to have a great time. Fully stocked kitchens, nice beds, great pool, laundry rooms, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, kayaks, fishing tackle and bicycles and more. The layout of the house was perfect for our group. The kids enjoyed seeing all of the lizards and iguanas running around the property. Plenty of space to have some privacy when you needed it. Very short walks to the bayside dock and the ocean. About 1.5 miles from restaurants and the convenience store. Lastly Marti is a excellent host. She is very attentive to anything you might need and goes above and beyond making sure her guests have a great vacation.

Gecko House was as described. Beach access was only about a 3- minute walk. The place is older but well maintained. The beds were comfortable and the kitchens were well equipped. It was also well supplied with TP, dish soap, laundry soap etc. Our family had a great time staying Christmas week! It would have been a nice touch to have a Christmas tree or lights our something up in the main area. We didn't see much sign in town that it was Christmas time either, though. We looked at stores 30 miles around and couldn't find a single small tree to put up for the kids. We ended up putting gifts around a bouquet of Christmas balloons from Walmart. Lol. No complaints from the kids!We were lucky to have exceptional weather. Highs in the low 80's all week. We had a nice time hanging out around the pool and an amazing time on the beach. We had fun looking for shells and shark teeth, playing games, basking in the sun, and taking walks with our toes in the sand. Just what we needed before heading back to a Utah winter.

We rented the entire Gecko house, all 4 apartments at once, for one full week. We arrived and the inside of the house was clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the quick walk to the non-packed beach/gulf and the bay. Sunsets and sunrises were amazing. Runnable and walkable location for those looking for early morning exercise. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. We had a very enjoyable time. The space had a gathering area in one of the apartments that fit us all. A huge perk was the spectacular beach. The sunrises and sunsets were soulful.One of the apartments smelled strongly of cleaning products, maybe a little too strong for chemical sensitive folks. We noticed the clean ashtrays located outside the door of the screened in porch for smokers to use. None of our party of 7 adults, 2 teenagers, and 1 child smokes and it would even feel more comforting if smoking was not allowed on the premises to deter previous smoking guests to not bring their smoke into the house “on accident”. The pool area could use a bit of cleaning up in terms of landscape for visual appeal. There was some discrepancy between the VRBO listing which stated that bikes were available and check-out time was 11, but the owner told us after we were into the week’s stay that bikes were not available and the check out time was earlier than stated. We were disappointed. She did allow us flexibility with the checkout time when asked, but no bikes.

Feel like home

Marti’s house is great. So many rooms and beds. We all eat together on the second floor, the kitchen was excellent, whatever kitchen supplies we need she has it. All her kitchen supplies are very nice qualities. She has everything we need, grills, beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, and good qualities towels. Feels like home

Beautiful property

If you have a large party this is the place to go. Plenty of room for everyone. Beautifully landscaped property. Plenty of outside seating, which is nicely laid out. Beautiful landscaping! Marti was very kind and communicated with us all the time. Perfect place for hanging out as a family.

Family Vacay

Three generations enjoyed staying at the Gecko House for a wonderful beach vacation. It is a unique layout that allowed us all to be together but also to have our own space. The house was clean and stocked well. Gecko House had comfy mattresses, nice linens, beach wagons, chairs, pool/ beach toys and more. It is a nice, short walk to the beach on a private path. The walk was easy even for the 3 year olds in the group. The beach was beautiful and so quiet even on the holiday weekend. If you stay at the Gecko House, I’m sure you won’t regret it.
