We give BoatersParadise FIVE STARS. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and definitely plan to extend our visit next time. Pros: This home delivered almost instant access to Atlantic Ocean for great, varied fishing catches. It's waterfront dockage easily accommodated 3 boats (so we enjoyed surprise visit from our family on our last two days). Having an exterior Bait Freezer was a great convenience, (as were the two full-sized refrigerators inside for extra beverages and food). This home's cut-out Boat Bay and ladder allowed us the easiest access and disembarkment from our kayaks, and a private, fenced area adjacent front driveway readily accommodated our kayaks delivery and gear stowage. (Our host, Daria arranged for local Kayak rental with free delivery and weekly discount). This 4 bedroom home is huge and it's layout is perfect for easy flow of different age groups and activities. Interior, there are three different living room lounging and socializing areas. Exterior, the property's two adjacent lots have multiple outdoor areas for separation adult and children (if you desire). For seating and socializing, there is a full Dining Room adjacent kitchen, and two separate exterior dining areas on either side of the house that have large Shade Sails. The east-side picnic table area was delightful for morning coffee, and the fenced west-side Teak Dining Set with Edison Lights and "Island Decor" was our favorite private evening retreat. For recreation and overflow parking, this property's huge east-side yard -where we put our boat trailers- had plenty of space for the kids to play frisbee and pitch horseshoes. "We older boys" played touch football and boccie ball, and the "folks" played croquet and horseshoes too. The house is beautiful. Furniture, Beds, and linens all very clean and comfortable. Host provided us with basic condiments, coffee, lots of food storage containers and serving dishes, cleaning products, and started us with necessary paper products.
Location: Walking distance to bait shop, diner, bar/restaurant with live music. Short drive to shops, outdoor markets, boat rentals, sunset cruises, snorkeling/fishing, art galleries, more.
Cons: There are two Iroquois Drive in Matecumbe Key so choose the one at Mile Marker: MM75. Also, pick up some food (and charcoal) at a grocer on your way into town (versus back-tracking). Map that on your GPS. Final negative: We should have stayed longer! We'll be back next year (if not before)!
