This guest left the property in horrible and unsanitary condition. Bedding had to be replaced, the rug required professional cleaning, and significant additional cleaning was required after checkout. After being charged for the condition and damage left behind, the guest became angry and stated that he was going to leave a bad review. He then posted essentially the same review twice because he had made two consecutive reservations. To be clear, these are not two different guests reporting the same issue — this is the same guest posting against two back-to-back reservations. Unfortunately, after contacting Vrbo about the situation, I was told that my only course of action was to publicly respond to the reviews. It is extremely disappointing as a host to document the condition a guest left a property in, deal with the resulting expenses, and then have essentially the same retaliatory review appear twice. We take the cleanliness and condition of our property seriously. Anyone concerned about these reviews is welcome to ask us about what occurred. We are happy to provide screenshots, communications, and documentation regarding the condition in which the property was left.
