Thank you Brielle. It was a pleasure to host y’all and yes, we wish we were up in a little mountain cove, but on the flip side, we’re super close to everything we love. We love the uniqueness of the cabin. I don’t know of another one like it!

Rebecca, we are grateful for every guest that chooses our cabin for their travel needs. We fully realize not all can be pleased to the same degree, but I feel the need to push back on your 2-Star rating. After purchasing the cabin in 2016 and spending over 2 years and well over $200,000 in renovations, we welcomed our first guests in 2018. Since then, we have had added 2 more cottages to our 4 acre property and have hosted thousands. I’m deeply gratified at the overwhelming positive feedback we consistently enjoy. I take every criticism to heart and view it as an opportunity for improvement, but in this case, I’m going to clarify some misconceptions in your review. When we enhanced our front entrance to add a deeper roof, beefy locust log posts and a flagstone porch, we were forced to comply with Henderson County setback requirements. We had to prove our entrance would still be more than 40 feet from the road. We comfortably exceed that restriction and it should be evident when you park your car in front of the house. I purchased custom window treatments for each window in this cabin. Because we still have the original wooden casement windows and they are quite drafty, I installed insulated drapes in every room. Most are backed up by a set of sheers. They have hung there since day 1 and are plainly visible in our photos. I do not understand your false and negative comments, and I am sad you did not enjoy your time here. We wish you well.

The first thing I want to offer is our gratitude to you for choosing our cabin for your trip to Hendersonville. We appreciate everyone who does and welcome all constructive feedback. We take that seriously. The second thing is an earnest apology for failing to unload the dishwasher. When I looked, the dishes were clean. If you ran the dishwasher, thank you. It’s hard to comprehend that you couldn’t find a coffee cup. There are 9 in the same drawer you found the K-cups in, and 8 more in plain sight, in open shelving and in the glass fronted china cabinet. I wish you had reached out. When you asked about the thermostat in the bathroom, you were directed to use the one in the kitchen. No one was rude to you, we simply asked whether you wanted heating or cooling in that moment. No response was received. Admittedly, our front doorknob is a little wobbly. The door is over a hundred years old. Again, we checked that and found it to be secure. The back door is left unlocked intentionally when guests are arriving. In the rare event someone can’t open the front, they can enter the back. Since we live next door, security has never been an issue. Both doors have deadbolts. We realize the road is busy and that is accounted for in our description. “We are situated on a busy two-lane road in a 35 Mph zone, less than 2 miles from Hendersonville’s Main St.” I think it’s actually 25 in front of the house. I wish people were more observant of the speed limit, I wish cars were quieter. Since we acquired this property, we have spent thousands of dollars on landscaping and privacy plantings. It is now very difficult to see the road in front, or the two neighboring homes. As for construction: we are in the middle of remodeling our garage apartment. We blocked our calendar for the noisy part and no guests were affected. During your stay, no contractors were on site. There was zero construction activity. Apologies for the visual effects.
