We had a lot of fun during our stay at Lake Lure and really enjoyed the location. The lake was beautiful, and the property was conveniently located for enjoying the area. The inside of the home was fine overall. Cleaning was just okay—not particularly thorough, but nothing we couldn’t remedy ourselves upon arrival.Unfortunately, there were significant concerns with the condition and maintenance of the exterior. There was a noticeable amount of property neglect, including broken concrete/blocks and debris around the property, along with severely deteriorated wood and railing components of the main wrap around patio. With several children in our group, some of these conditions created legitimate safety concerns. The biggest concern was the upper patio/deck. The pole intended to support the upper patio did not appear to be properly attached, and it fell twice while we were there. This was extremely concerning, especially with children using the property. The hot tub also stopped working on the third day. It displayed an error code indicating a filter issue, so we were unable to use it for the remainder of our stay.Overall, we truly enjoyed Lake Lure and the location, but the exterior maintenance and safety issues, along with the hot tub malfunction, were disappointing. With attention to the property’s upkeep and structural safety, this could be a great place to stay.
