Nice property, well located

Nicely furnished, well equipped house, literally a couple of minutes walk from Cormeilles centre. Easy parking (we parked right outside every day without effort). Joanne responded very quickly to a couple of minor queries. We would stay again.

Lovely place

Really nice house, quirky and quaint. It had everything we needed, all of good quality. The den was a nice bonus, lovely space next to the river. Hamper on arrival with some tasty stuff. Check in was easy. NIce little town, with some good restaurants, but be aware, a lot of them were shut on Monday and Tuesday (June). Magic pizza machine just round the corner! The nearby zoo is well worth a visit. The stairs were interesting, maybe a problem for someone with limited mobility. Overall, a great place 10/10

Wonderful village

The property is very tastefully restored and located in the centre of the village. Be sure to take time to discover the village and chat with the locals in one of the cafés near the property. We enjoyed spending time in the cafés and restaurants surrounding the home. The hosts are charming and very accommodating. An excellent welcome package with local specialties was awaiting us upon our arrival and communication with the owners was superb. They really do have the comfort of their guests in mind. The only cautionary comment we would make is that the wooden stairway leading from the ground floor to upper floors can be difficult to navigate with luggage. Any adults who are not entirely steady on their feet or young children will need to take special care.

The house is very near the village, only 2 minutes walking for fresh food, supermarket and a very great bakery. The village is beautiful and we loved it. When you enter the house you are immediately in the small living room with a large couch and cosy fireplace. The kitchen has all you need but with 6 persons sitting at the table is a challenge. We were only with 2 adults and our dog. The bag with goodies felt very welcoming.The stair is a work of art, but could be a struggle for some. The large bathroom is on the top floor, it has a bathtub and rain shower. It feels very luxurious and the small window has a beautiful view.The bed is perfect, we also slept better here than at home.We did not use the extra outside area with the small garden, it was too cold. But we did have a great time!The market of Cormeilles with all the fresh food and kind people is a must. We did see a lot in the area, Deauville, Blonville sur Mer, Cabourg, Ouistreham, Crèvecoeur-en-Auge and Château-Musée de Saint Germain-de-Livet and Lisieux and even more. Everything is beautiful and we will certainly come back.

A relaxing time in a beautifully quirky house

Had a great 10 night break in Cormeilles. The town is typical of this part of France and is very pretty with everything that you need for day to day living and a lovely river that winds all through the town. There is a food market every Friday and we made good use of Mr Sulky's coffee shop and the bakery a couple of doors down. There is a supermarche which is a pleasant 10 min walk away where you can buy everything you need to cook at home. The house is a wonderfully quirky shape. There are no square rooms here and it's great fun! The staircase is lovely and was my favourite part, although they are steep so may be an isdue for some. Beds are super comfy, kitchen was well equipped. The fridge is pretty small in the kitchen, so we shopped small and often, but there is another one in the outside garden room, which is well stocked with beer, wine and soft drinks (operates on an honesty policy) so it all worked for us. The owners are wonderful. There was a fault with the internet which they went out of their way to fix very quickly and were also very helpful with recommending things to do in the area. Would recommend

totalement inadapté pour 6 personnes: le rez de chaussée est exigüe. La cuisine manque d'équipement indispensable : ni batteur, ni mixeur, ni congélateur, ni marmite. le patio et la minuscule terrasse sont à l'abandon et la pièce sent horriblement le renfermé. Désolée, je n'ai pas pu y rester, d'autant que pour le moral : la fenetre de la cuisine donne sur la chambre funeraire. J'ai donc, en urgence, trouvé un autre gite qui puisse nous accueillir avec un confort minimum. Les photos ne laissaient pas présager un tel fiasco !.

Leuk goed gelegen knus traditioneel huis

Wij hebben het erg naar ons zin gehad in dit huis. Het was schoon, knus en apparaten, bestek en handdoeken ruimschoots aanwezig. Huis ligt centraal in het dorp met allemaal winkels in de buurt. Ook is er een Carrefour in het dorp. Al met al een heerlijk week met ons gezin gehad.

Wonderful house and super nice hosts!

The house is beautiful and has great charm. We sat on the terrace every evening and enjoyed the sound of the brook that flows right next to the house. The house is well equipped and the hosts are always ready to give recommendations and tips. Thank you very much, we will definitely be back :-)

Quirky French House

A quirky house in a typical small French town - great if you want to be able to step out of the front door to access a selection of eateries and bakeries. The property is decorated with carefully chosen items that both compliment and celebrate the building’s past. The outdoor space enhances the space further. The hosts were very friendly, informative and welcoming. They promptly answered all questions about the local area. The welcome basket was a real treat and much appreciated. We would confidently recommend to families with older children or groups of adults.

Quirky property in good location with nice outside space

We really liked the property, which had some quirky features. The kitchen area had a modern twist but retained its period. You need to be fairly agile as the stairs are rather steep and the shower is on the top floor. The outside space is really useful to have, as we spent every night sitting out there. We were a family of 3 adults, so suited us well, the hut with darts, coffee machine, bbq etc was very handy. The outside seats could be updated slightly as were a bit uncomfortable after a while, but that’s probably more to do with sitting to eat and play games for a long time. Comeilles was a lovely town, great restaurants, bars and well stocked supermarket. We only had a short 3 night stay but would highly recommend this property.

Comfortable Home in a Wonderful Location.

The house is very well equipped for a comfortable stay with everything we needed and more . Joanne and Ivan, Ian and Tammie were very attentive hosts , nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed the generous welcome pack on arrival . We experienced a genuine taste of the French lifestyle literally on the doorstep in the town of Cormeilles . A wonderful location for exploring Normandy , with beautiful coastal resorts within 30 min drive . After a day out , the riverside terrace and outside entertainment area (Den ) is a private area for relaxing evenings and a BBQ .The comfortable beds and luxury bedding made for a good nights sleep . There is so much more to see in the area we would definitely like to stay here again .
