Great location. Close to everything. Plenty of space. Loved our stay and would definitely stay again.Only issues were the listing did not disclose that the downstairs is also a rental. The beds, while comfortable were unbelievably loud.

Quite, easy to unload, had no steps, only has 1 queen bed in each bedroom, nicely furnished, remotes in bedroom do not work tv, may need new batteries, not a lot of light, some bulbs were burned out. Nice visit.

Is a nice house the kitchen is well stocked with all you need living room is set up nice. Bed rooms are nice. The road is ok getting to the house. but the place needs to be maintained better the ad shows 2 beds per room and there is only one. the light over stove is not working the front storm door is bent won't close. The tv system is very lacking. One bathroom shower needs replacing the propane grill outside is rotting no way to use it the gutters have trees 2 ft tall growing in them this could be a A place with a few changes we have used VRBO for many years and this was one of the bottom of the list

Great place, central location

The house is perfectly located close to all major ski locations. It was very clean and well equipped with essentials. It’s not huge inside but was perfect for our family for the week.

A delightful cabin

My two friends and I totally enjoyed out stay. The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed. The location is a gem. We easily visited Boone, Blowing Rock and Grandfather’s Mountain. We spent one afternoon at the Grandfather Mountain Winery sipping wine and listening to wonderful live music. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful location! It was perfect for our elderly lab! He loved the upper driveway area and its relatively flat. The house has character and we absolutely loved it other than the oven wouldn't work properly and we love to cook. One of the bed frames broke after i sat down on it normally and i only weigh 195 lbs. Im sure these small issues will be resolved and we will definitely rent it again.

Perfect solo hiking weekend getaway

This was the perfect place for me to get away from the busyness of life for a little relaxation, hiking, and focused time to start a new business. While the place has 3 bedrooms and could comfortably accommodate more people, i did not feel overwhelmed by myself either. It was super quiet, peaceful, clean, and provided all of the accommodations I needed, while being reasonably close to restaurants and shops in Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Many of the hiking trails along that area of the BRP were less than 30 minutes drive. The only less minor inconveniences i noticed were a few lights in the kitchen and bathroom were not working, and the place has a musty smell as it walk in. But I otherwise really enjoyed myself, and look forward to coming back again!

Musty odor.

Everything would have been fine but the house had a water leak and a musty odor. Tried scented candles but it was just a scented musty odor. On the second day the odor and leak were worse and not bearable so we had to check out early. Owner did not offer a partial refund. Owner was friendly and easy to contact. Exterior of house siding and roof was in poor condition. Interior had been remodeled and was in good overall condition.

The week around this stay had unusually heavy rain for the mountains in the winter. We advised there had been a small water leak from a vent pipe on the roof prior to check-in but this was fixed day of check in. We also had a licensed contractor inspect and found no issues. We appreciate the feedback on the siding, this is a family property for which we work to improve over time. Although only cosmetic, we hope to fix this in the near future.

This was our second year staying here and also in the downstairs apartment part of the time. Wonderful location and just a short trip to great restaurants and places to see and things to do.
