Great property in a beautiful area. Close to some great places to visit and also a great house to enjoy. Was fun swimming down across the street and walking the beach for sunset (tide dependent). Beds were very comfortable and kitchen had all the Maine necessities! Hope to visit again!

Very charming old school cottage and very well sorted and equipped.Very comfortable.Only thing to be aware of is that one of showers is very small and the other shower isin the basement.

The view- simply spectacular sunrises and sunsets! Cottage is a beautifully decorated and so comfortable and such a cozy place where you can relax and take in the beauty of coastal Maine. Walks on the beach and watching wildfire were daily highlights… then the seafood options nearby!!! Great hiking trails to explore- house has everything needed to cook at home too. We Can’t wait to return!

Bowdoin reunion weekend

This house was perfect for our reunion weekend. We had a place to gather and enjoy each other’s company. A great time was had by all. House was very clean and well appointed. The location was perfect.

Sand Dollar Cottage is a wonderful retreat!

We live in Florida and we wanted to spend some time in middle Maine on the coast. This house is in a great location in Harpswell, near Brunswick and Bath. Lovely water view and access to a private pathway to the beach. We really enjoyed the fall foliage and temps.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage was clean and well appointed, we had everything we needed for a weeks stay a the house. We have been coming to the Harpswell area for many years, the guide books in the cottage and suggestions all lined up with our favorite things. The walk to the beach was as advertised and the house fit the description well. Overall a very positive experience. We did have an issue with the sliding door in the kitchen. The screen on the main slider had been damaged at some point prior to our arrival. We reported and no action was taken to repair while we were there. This did limit our deck access and was a small nuisance. Other than the slider we had a great trip and the cottage fit our needs.

Sunset Cove retreat

House was very spacious and well equipped. Everything you need, especially for the kitchen. Comfortable beds, wonderful view of the cove and access to the beach is convenient. AC in the bedrooms came in handy during some unusually hot,humid weather. Easy access to Brunswick.

A Treasure

What a wonderful place to stay! It was perfect. The cleanliness, communication, access to all things, preparation for a warm Maine stay, and more. It was the best choice. The views were spectacular. It was great to be back in the neighborhood and see the friendly neighbors. I would 100% stay here again. Thank you!

Loved it!

We loved our week at the Sand Dollar! The place was clean, comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen, with beautiful windows to take in the wonderful views! This location is an easy drive to Portland (1 hour), Freeport, Boothbay (45 min), Rockland, Rockport and Camden (1 hour), and we took advantages of it all! Our hosts provided great communication and were very responsive. We would come again!

Reviewer Comments: Absolutely great!The layout is perfect and the space is well stocked with throws, comfortable beds and furniture, the kitchen has everything, extremely clean, easy to keep clean (were there for 2 weeks), love the washer dryer right there and handy, and the setting is quintessential quiet, friendly, and beautiful. The house was probably updated a short time ago and is air tight with the windows closed so I can imagine that in colder weather, it would be comfortable. Everything is updated and easy to use inside. We only had one cooler day and we were very cozy inside without adding heat. The water access was easy and watching the tide was a favorite activity. The little coves going to the right or left on the beach are all worth exploring. Harpswell has a ton of public walking trails with parking in most places. It’s such a treasure of a place, with glorious beauty and diversity of rock formations, terrain, and seashore views.

The location was beautiful. The outside could have been cleaner as well as the dust dog hair and cobwebs . The couch needs to be professionally cleaned. Cabinets are full of stuff left from previous guests very disorganized.

Sand Dollar was the perfect getaway! We had a wonderful, relaxing stay and enjoyed our time near the water. We loved walking our dogs every morning on the rocky beach just a few steps away with easy access. Don't miss Erica's Seafood for great lobster rolls and Pammy's ice cream parlor for a sweet treat! My one piece of advice is to use the GPS coordinates and not the actual address if you are using google maps to get there. We ended up on the wrong road and couldn't find the house before we checked in. Otherwise, everything was seamless and the house was comfortable and well appointed.

Harpswell Family Gathering

We have a large family and needed additional housing for our home in Harpswell. This property was a terrific fit. The view of the ocean is fantastic, with a West facing sea view so sunsets are beautiful. The kitchen is updated with professionally serviced linens. A very clean and cared for property with public access to the ocean not far away. A terrific way to explore the Maine coast. We had a minor repair needed and the owners had it fixed by Noon of the same day. Great hosts!

Comfortable and well stocked with everything needed

We enjoyed everything about this home. The only problem was the check in information was incorrect and I ended up having to climb through an unlocked window to get inside. The directions indicated the key was under the mat….not. Once inside we got the door code and all was fine from there on.

Sand Dollar Cottage

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cottage is nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen. The sunset views are lovely. The drawback is the intense sulphuric/rotten eggs smell from the water taps. The rental agent told us that the smell was very common in this area. We were aware that we needed bottled water for drinking and cooking, but we were distressed by the smell and water quality of the water available for showers and kitchen cleanup. Perhaps an upgrade to the water treatment system could address this issue.
