It was really nice! I wish I saved this relaxing island for the end of my trip. Saw humpbacks and orcas from the property. One thing to note is that a lot of the island is closed Monday and Tuesday. But the view of the bay is incredible, and still has amazing hikes!

Beautiful property. Very clean. Hosts are excellent. The pathways are gravel and the driveway very steep. For folks who have accessibility issues this may present some challenges. But the hosts deal with it very well. The view is incredible, and there are often whales jumping in the bay.

We had a wonderful weekend in the Mt Strachan suite. Spent our days hiking around the island and it was such a treat coming back to such a lovely place. The sauna and hot tub were simply divine!

Outstanding view, cozy room and bed, beautiful trails nearby to get into Snug cove. A very good way to recharge, relax and rest. Very steep uphill, so if your walking avoid a suit case in my opinion. Already planning on another visit with a friend!

Beautiful, relaxing, clean and comfortable, friendly hosts and guests, stunning views, sauna and hot tub were icing on cake. We will return asap!

Nice weekend getaway

Nice little suit. The bed was very comfortable. Great views with nice amenities - particularlyenjoyed the sauna. Host stayed in touch and was very accommodating after an island wide power outage following a large storm.

Incredible Property

My wife and I had a short weekend getaway from the mainland and this was the perfect place to stay. There were amazing views from every unit, well-maintained hot tub/sauna and the firepit was a great way to close out the final night. We will be booking the cabin with friends on our next visit 100%.

A beautiful gem!

This was a magical place to stay while on Bowen Island. Everything was perfect, and to top it off, we saw a humpback whale our first morning. I highly recommend waking up early to catch the sunrise and maybe some views of wildlife!

Girls weekend

This was the perfect place to stay for a quick getaway. Absolutely stunning view. We walked do to the water and it was so peaceful to just sit on the rocks. Super close to the ferry and all the things in town. The hot tub was perfect. The bed was comfortable. The owners were so nice and we were greeted with the sweet quester of a hand written note and wine.

Our stay was absolutely rejuvenating—exactly what we were craving! The breathtaking views from Hummingbird Oceanside Suites blew us away and were a huge reason we chose this place. There’s nothing quite like sipping coffee in the morning and enjoying a glass of wine in the evening while gazing at the stunning ocean! Even with other guests around, we felt like we had our own little paradise. Plus, for my curly-haired girls, this suite came equipped with a diffuser attachment for the blow dryer—a first for this curly hair girl. We absolutely fell in love with this spot, and it’s just a quick drive to town.

Amazing views

Adorable suite with stunning views! Room was very clean and it was a great place to come back to at the end of the day. Check out the local restaurants as this suite has a microwave/fridge/ Keurig and tea kettle. No stove, which was perfect for me. Outside seating areas to watch sunset were perfect. Highly recommend if peace and quiet is your desire.

Anniversary getaway

Million dollar views! We even saw some humpback whales in the bay on our last morning! Property is lovely, clean. Beautifully landscaped and decorated. The only complaint was the construction noise from the property next door, but not the owners fault. Thankfully they stopped working in the afternoon so a good portion of the day was peaceful.

The room was incredibly clean and beautiful. There were great amenities and I really appreciated that coffee and utensils were provided. The views are absolutely gorgeous. I found the host very responsive and easy to communicate with, and overall a great stay. The host had a sweet welcome note and gift which is a nice touch. For me the only issues were that the location itself is hard to get to, especially if you don’t have a car. This was said in the listing that it is difficult without a car, but unless you have a car that you feel confident driving up and down an extremely steep driveway, it is a trek every time you come and go. Which is totally fine, I think the spirit of the outdoors and being active is the right fit for the island- I just personally found it exhausting and only took one or two trips out of the accommodation a day. I also found it a little noisy- I believe they were doing housework/repairs or cleaning the last few days I was there so I did notice that. But overall a great stay and I would recommend to anyone coming to Bowen Island.

Piece of paradise

Cute little rental with amazing views. Very clean with amazing host. My only thing was it said kitchenette so I assumed there would be something to cook eggs on in the morning and the coffee maker was a keurig I brought regualr coffee and filters. Melissa and Dominic were able to give us some great options for breakfast on the island so im kind of glad i couldnt cook :)

Exceptional!

I loved my stay at Hummingbird Oceanside Suites. Melissa and Dominic were excellent hosts, checking in to make sure I was enjoying myself. I stayed in the Stachan suite. It had an incredible view, as advertised. The bed was super comfortable and I really appreciated the heated towel rack in the bathroom. I also spent quite a bit of time sitting on the chairs outside, or wandering down the stairs to the water's edge. I saw seals, eagles and Canada Geese, and it was fun watching the ferry go by on its way to Nanaimo. The location was perfect. I did not have a car and was pleased with the short 20 min walk the ferry and Snug Harbour. I am already dreaming about booking there again next year.

Melissa provided detailed and clear information for check-in.The suite offers great views of the channel, mountains and marine traffic.The kitchenette amenities are minimal--less than we expected. Microwave, coffeemaker, tea kettle but no sink or cooking device.We would stay here again if we return to Bowen Island.

Perfect weekend getaway

This is a perfect choice if you are looking for a weekend getaway to Bowen Island. High recommend, look no further. Melissa and Dominic have an outstanding new property with breathtaking views. The pictures are exactly what you are going to expect. Melissa does a great job communicating with you before and during your stay. Everything you have questions about or want to know about things to do during your stay is covered in a binder. There are a total of 4 units and one cabin on the property, so if you are looking for seclusion, just be aware of that. Very thing is marked well on the property, and it was easy to enjoy our time on the property even though we weren’t alone. We will definitely we back to explore Bowen Island again, and plan to book this breaktaking stay once again.
