UPDATED Sea-renity WEST near boat ramp

Cozy two-bedroom duplex on a quiet road in Emerald Isle. A five-minute walk to the beach access as well as to the marina to launch your boat. This house is on a dead-end where you can walk to a new playground that overlooks the ICW. It is fully furnished, 2 miles from the grocery stores/restaurants and easy access to the Emerald Isle bridge. The kitchen is equipped for in-home cooking as well as a grill to use on the deck out front. Washer and dryer are also within the unit to use. Linens and towels are provided.

Attractions:
• Public beach access- 0.3 mi. Take Pinta Dr. across Emerald Dr. then two blocks up (no parking at this access)
• Emerald Isle Boat ramp- 0.4 mi. Make left on Emerald Isle Dr. from Pinta Dr., turn left on Scotch Bonnet Dr. (Great long dock you can fish off at the end or relax on the benches and watch the ICW)
• Senator Jean Preston Memorial Park- 0.1 mi. Make a right out of the driveway and walk to the end of the street.
• Bogue Inlet Fishing Pier- 1.8 mi.
• Salty Pirate Water Park- 2.8 mi.
• Emerald Forest Mini-Golf- 2.5 mi.
• Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium- 12 mi.
• Downtown Swansboro- 8.4 mi.

This house was perfect and clean! It was perfect for a beach vacation. The beach was a short walk away. The host was super responsive and made the whole process super easy. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be back!

The property is clean, comforable, convenient to everything and has plenty of space. The deck space is a bonus with nice views and a grill. There's plenty of parking. Everything works. We completely enjoyed our stay!!

The house was very nice and clean. Just the right size for our needs. It was a close and easy walk to the beach. Most amenities were supplied which made for a good stay. The host was very quick to respond to any questions/concerns we had. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Emerald Isle stay.

Property was clean and cozy. I wish I knew there were pets that stayed there previously. My skin was so itchy and irritated the whole time. I am severely allergic to cats and some dogs.

Overall It Was Good

The place was nice and clean pretty comfortable, it is although a pretty good walk from there to the beach, and if you try and drive there's absolutely no parking at the local access. We've been trying to visit every coastal town on the NC Coast so we can pick a favorite, and wasn't real impressed with Emerald Isle at all.

Little Sweet Spot

Check in was easy and we were notified that we were able to get a little earlier than expected. Our AC went out after returning home one evening. We texted the hosts and within 20 mins we had the owner come take a look. It was after 9pm and since it wasn’t as simple as we hoped, the owner left and ran to the store to get a portable AC unit for the night. The next morning they had a service call in and it was fixed within a few hours. We were so grateful for the quick response and how they rectified the situation, as it was out of anyone’s control. The unit is perfect for a family of 4 and very clean! We especially appreciated how they were able to even fit a stackable washer and dryer into the kitchen, because no one wants sandy beach towels! The location is great for small kids as the park is a very short walk down the road and also the boat launch and a long, gorgeous fishing dock that is beautiful in the evening! Walking to the beach was pretty simple too. Just bring a wagon or a beach cart. We will absolutely stay here again!

Disappointed

The house was nice enough but there was not one comfortable piece of furniture in the entire house. We are retired so we want to be comfortable at the end of the day. The sleeper/sofa was 4 feet off the floor and very uncomfortable for sitting while watching TV and the recliner was best suited to a 10 year old. I'm only 5'8 and my legs hung off the end of the chair. These were the only two pieces of furniture in the living room so we had to bring a deck chair in so both of us would have somewhere to sit. We frequently travel with another couple. Had we done that this time there would have been nowhere for 2 of us to sit. Not only that, one of the beds the mattress was wore out and my wife was hanging on to the edge to kept from rolling to the middle of the bed therefore we switched beds the next night and were able to rest comfortably. We go to the beach frequently and are aware there is an occasional palmetto bug however we just kept having to pick them up out of the floor. The website leads you to believe that the beach is a short walk away when in fact the beach is almost a half mile away and there is nowhere to park at the public beach access point so you have to drive around and search out an appropriate access point.

Hi Thomas, Thank you so much for your thorough review as we do appreciate feedback to ensure we can always better our place for guests. I would like to say first that we strive to make our guests needs a priority and that you’re enjoying your time away from home. I understand that the daybed in the living room is a bit higher off the ground than a traditional couch. We are working to replace a few furniture items as we acquired the duplex furnished at the beginning of August. Regarding the palmetto bugs, I apologize that you experienced seeing them. We have a monthly maintenance plan, however it may have been due to the amount of rain we just recently had. The listing does state that the beach is walking distance from the house (3 blocks) and it’s exactly 0.3 miles away (the island is not very wide). Most accesses in EI do not have parking which is why this is not advertised. There are however parking areas, such as Bogue inlet pier where guests could park to walk up to the beach. I wish you would’ve mentioned some of your concerns while we spoke during your stay. We would have tried to addressed them at that time. We hope to speak with you again in the future. We enjoyed our stay here at the bungalow for one week. Was well equipped place. Could walk to boat docks and see a beautiful sunset. We walked to beach in about 8 minutes. You do have to cross a street. So centrally located. We really enjoyed eating and listening to music Saturday night at Snapperz. Colleen was a wonderful host. Thanks
