This location is excellent, close to YNP, fishing on the Madison and other waterways, and many other activities. The place is spotless and has everything one needs for an excellent trip. The host is friendly, super helpful, and great to work with. I have not stayed in a better place. For one that has traveled extensively around the world, I highly recommend this guesthouse when visiting the area.

Long Weekend Fishing Trip

Perfect stay for 3 friends on a fishing trip to Montana. Very clean and a beautiful location. The fully stocked kitchen was also great.

Amazing place!

This place was the best! Rose was super accommodating. The space was clean, very well stocked with all essentials, and in a great location. We loved our time here the Madison Valley!

The property was absolutely perfect. It was spotlessly clean and all was as-described with great attention to detail. The host, Rose, was very welcoming and attentive - she even left freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for me during my stay. The view is stunning and this was an absolutely perfect rest and fishing retreat. I would definitely recommend and plan to stay again myself.

Great Montana Experience

Fishing getaway with son and son-in-law. This place has it all, clean and comfortable, epic views, Madison River access and excellent friendly hosts. Everything about our stay was good and we look forward to when we can come and stay here again.

Great Place!

Spent three days here with friends. Had a great experience, the apartment was just as presented, Rose was excellent to work with, and we will definitely come back in the future. Great point from which to venture if you want to explore the Madison River valley and the beautiful surroundings.

Lovely accommodations steps from the Madison River

The house was well maintained, nicely decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed the proximity to the Madison River, and bar-b-q most nights with panoramic views of the Madison River valley. I would recommend this rental to anyone and we will absolutely be back.

Relaxing getaway

The rental was wonderful; so clean, cozy and welcoming, with amazing views!! The owners have thought of everything and really made it feel like home away from home. It’s clear to see that a lot of thought was put into making sure that guests want for nothing. Highly recommend.

The apartment was just right for the 2 of us. The path to the river was a little too rough for us, but there are plenty of public accesses not far from the cabin. The deck was very peaceful and the sunsets were spectacular. It was our 30th anniversary trip. Definitely would stay again if we come to fish. Rose was an excellent host.

Wonderful time at the Grasshopper Guesthouse!

My husband, son and I planned a road trip to get in some fly fishing in Montana. I came upon Rose’s Grasshopper Guesthouse and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was central to the places we wanted to check out and right on the river! Highly recommend if you want to be in a location that is convenient to fishing and relaxing. Bring good bug spray!

I'm glad that you got what you were looking for in a rental, although I'm sorry that you did come during a mosquito snap. We do have Thermacell insect repellers. I will be sure to add them to the guestbook and put signs out so guests can find them more easily in the future. Thank you Angie!

Lovely Place two hours from home

Really enjoyed family time. Rosie is a great hostess. The unit is completely comfortable, clean, and new. The 23 stairs were a little challenging.

Summer getaway

This is my third time at the grasshopper house and once again, it exceeded any expectations. Wonderful fishing, AMAZING hosts, and such a beautiful tranquil area. Highly recommended. Will be back again for as long as I can go! Thank you Rose and Johnnie!

Annual Fishing Trip (Year 30)

This place is absolutely amazing! The hosts were beyond amazing and made our annual fishing trip one to remember for a long time. We plan on coming back in a few years and look forward to enjoying everything this property has to offer. The deck on the front of the house is so fun, looking at the landscape, stars and listening to the Madison in the evening. The inside accommadations are exactly as you see in the pictures and are clean and comfortable. Thank you so much for letting us stay and looking forward to visiting again soon.
