The kids play house was amazing to have and kept the toddlers occupied and happen. I definitely hope to stay again, hopefully for a longer period of time. Also the showers were gorgeous!

This property is spectacular - comfortable, spacious and cozy at the same time. We had a wonderful vacation - so much to do in the area and such a nice home to come back to!

Beautiful home!

Had a great family weekend at this home. It's a little off the beaten path with a dusty road, but very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Hot tub is awesome!

Family Fun at the Shire

We had a great stay at The Shire. The home is extremely well appointed. The setting is quiet and serene. We highly recommend this vacation home for your Paso vacay.

Fantastic graduation celebration!

The Shire was a wonderful escape and place to celebrate my son's Cal Poly graduation. It made the whole weekend so extra relaxing and brilliant!! All the wonderful touches made it feel like such a relaxing getaway!

Peaceful Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house on the hill served as a peaceful retreat for my family after a day of wine tasting in Paso. We especially appreciated the generous stock of really good coffee! The house is super clean, the kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen ware, towels, bedding, soap, TP, paper towels, etc. The only thing that would make it perfect, would be to have king size beds in the bedrooms upstairs. The beds in the upstairs bedrooms seem small for a queen size and might even be full size, making sleep a bit difficult for the two couples who slept on them. I slept like a baby in one of the downstairs bedrooms :). Thank you!

A wonderful break

Clean, new, spacious, comfortable and beautiful. This property has everything you need for a wonderful getaway (except maybe a swimming pool? 😅) I really recommend it

AMAZING

We pulled up to the property at sunset and were blown away by the location and the house itself. The kids were so excited for their own little playhouse-we basically never saw them during our stay. The house itself was incredible. So spacious and well kept. It was as if we were at a private resort. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great stay. Beautiful home with stunning views. Only thing that could be better is the outdoor furniture. Wish there was a couch and cushioned seats around the fire pit. Other wise great place!!

There was more than enough space for our group of seven friends to relax and enjoy a much-needed escape for three nights and four days. We made the most of our stay—playing games, soaking in the jacuzzi, gathering around the fire pit, cooking together, wine tasting, exploring Tin City, and capturing plenty of fun photos. It was truly an unforgettable experience.

The Shire is a beautiful place to gather with family, or friends. Communication with the host was great. Everything was outlined clearly. The house is very spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. There was no noise at night - peaceful rest. I would definitely rent this house again.Douglas

Great stay

Loved the property. Comfy beds, very clean, well appointed. For the price, didn’t like having to start dishwasher, loss of towels and removing trash to dumpster which is not clearly visible. Had fun games to play, high chair and play pen/crib if needed. Great hot tub with towels. Plenty of hot water. Spices and coffee provided which is nice.

Perfect house for a getaway

We had such a great time at the Shire. The house is beautiful. Its a stunning location, quiet and the views a breathtaking. The house itself is really special. The attention to detail in every room is lovely and the house functioned really well for a party of 5 including my 86 year old mother-in-law. Our only regret is that we didn't spend enough time in the house. Can't wait to go back. Many thanks to the owner and the support team. Everything was perfect.

Amazing Stay!

This property has a great home design and plenty of amenities for everyone! I stayed here with my family, which included 2 grandparents, 3 parents, 4 kids (ages 9-12). The home had plenty of living and sleeping space for everyone to relax and hang out. The kitchen was perfectly designed for everyone to chat while also cooking, which was perfect as we were here during the Thanksgiving holiday. The dining room was also wonderful and easily sat the entire family. The hot tub was also a great place for everyone to relax after a long day of exploring and visiting the vineyards. Upon arrival, I had a couple of questions with the property manager, and they responded within minutes. Highly recommend!

We booked the Shire for our celebration of grad weekend- a dual graduation in our family, with one of the grads from Cal Poly SLO. This was a great location- a quick drive from campus, but in the peace and quiet away from hustle bustle. We had a family barbecue dinner delivered from Jack's Bar and Grill- and enjoyed both the large indoor (air conditioned) dining room and the outside picnic table under the lovely string lights. The hot tub at sunset, and under the starry night was brilliant. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed for celebrating and savoring. Don't think I have ever had a rental home that provided both ground coffee and pods- more than enough for our stay (though we brought our own). Beds were all great- overhead fans were tremendous and all had remotes- and all the bed rooms had the best blackout shades for those late sleepers.My "littles" are way too big for the Little Shire, but we couldn't help but peek- soooo cute and would be phenom for kids.The fire pit and barbecue were well used as well- both clean and in great working condition. They even had a wireless JBL speaker charged, ready for our bluetooth music choices. Does it get better than Steely Dan and Sauvignon Blanc at the fire pit while watching the bunnies scamper nearby? It was all the right vibes for a family getaway and celebration. And our grad photos were awesome!

Congratulations to both grads, what a milestone weekend for the family! The fire pit with bunnies scampering by might be the most perfect evening ever described, and we love that the location delivered all the right vibes, from sunset hot tub soaks to blackout shades for the late sleepers. Those grad photos will be treasures. We'd be honored to host the next family celebration!
