Peace and quiet! Kids enjoyed the kayaks. I enjoyed quiet cups of coffee on the back patio. Slept in cool comfort and host provided all we needed to have a comfortable stay. Home was clean and accomodating. Thanks!

Great property

It was a great spot, clean and great location. Owner responded quickly to any questions we had. Will definitely stay here if we go back to that area!! Highly recommend.

Sweet Little Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay in this sweet, little home! Owner was very friendly and helpful and super communicative! We had everything we needed, the river access and amenities were great, and we thoroughly enjoyed this little private getaway. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend for a small family stay!

Perfect spot

Lovely property on the Guadalupe river. Huge, shaded backyard and the perfect back porch to sit out on. We really enjoyed our girls weekend!

We didn’t get to stay long because of the amount of rain that dumped on central Texas it flooded the rivers, which was not anyones fault. But the place was great. Cute perfect for our family and we will be going back to enjoy our stay. The owner was super helpful and communicated great with us during our stay.

Relaxing Vacation

Our stay was wonderful! The owner stayed in contact and always responded in a timely manner. Having the river in the backyard was relaxing and convenient. Perfect for a family with small kids. Location of the cabin was great, close to the outlet malls, caverns, good restaurants, and stores but also secluded enough from all the traffic.

Nice getaway weekend!

Everything was very clean upon arrival! Plenty of things to do all at this one property. Fire pit for smores, fire pits for cooking, available kayaks and flat bottom boat for fishing, board games, outdoor toys the list goes on! Not to mention that the house was more than well stocked on all essential cooking appliances and utensils.10/10 perfect for our family of 4!

Overall, the house worked well for us, and we had a blast on the water. The home had a nostalgic feel, was well stocked, and had everything we needed. The location was great, and we especially enjoyed the rope swing and kayaks.We did have an unusual experience on our first evening, which I’m sure was just a fluke. Although check-in was at 4:00, the host’s friend/maintenance guy was still there when we arrived around 5:30 to greet us with his dogs, and remained until well after we returned from dinner around 8:30. I guess after getting things set up and turned on, he stayed by the water working on his jet ski before taking it for a spin and returning - he was very excited about having the part to fix his jet ski. He was a really nice guy and all, but it felt weird not having the place to ourselves and prevented us from really enjoying the waterfront that first evening.I contacted Chuck twice about the Wi-Fi and TV because the house manual wasn’t located somewhere easily visible, and he responded both times. However, when I reached out a third time to ask whether we would be sharing the lake access all weekend and explained the friend situation, I never received a response. That said, we did have the place to ourselves for the rest of the weekend.The plant across the water was also fairly loud, but we turned on the fan at night, slept fine, and eventually got used to it. Despite a couple of hiccups, we enjoyed our stay and made some great memories on the water.

Thanks again for staying and thanks for letting me know about my maintenance guy. I spoke with him right after you texted me and asked him to take his wave runner next door since he said he was next door working on my next-door neighbor's sprinkler. I know he has been working on his wave runner for several weeks after being in storage for 3 years, and you're right he was excited when he finally got it running properly and lost tract of the time. Thanks for letting me know so I can let him know for future guests.

Nice little hideaway

The house is right on the banks of the Guadeloupe river and is a nice quaint little place for a family of 4-5. It's 15-20 minutes from schliterbahn, and 30 from San Antonio and 60 from Austin. Kind of the perfect central zone to do a homeschool sight seeing trip. My kids did some fishing and kayaking, and a good time was had by all.

Good stay

It was a nice stay, beautiful yard and backyard. Loved the kayaking and fire pit! The pillows on the bed in the living room were dirty, and there were some dirty dishes. Nothing awful- but I did feel slightly misled by the ad- especially with the shower curtain bedroom door. It was a nice, private stay for the few days we were there and the host was very communicative.

Awesome Location!

Our family had a wonderful time! The property is beautifully set right along the water. The porch and large yard, which has many trees for shade, is perfect for relaxing. We brought our kayak but having the other 2 available was nice so we could all go out together. Kayaking and fishing along the river was awesome. The house was very clean and stocked well with essential items.

Adorable river house

We were thrilled with this house! It had everything we could have needed, was an easy walk to the river, and we enjoyed the kayaks they had. The kitchen is fully stocked, even with a water cooler. My kids loved the bunkbeds! The only drawback at all was the loud factory across the river.

Hey Joanna, thanks for the review. The factory is located to the north of our house so when the wind is out of the southeast it is not as loud. I run our fan at night so I can't hear it at all.

Very beautiful

Place is right on the lake. Well stocked. Very convenient. So nice to have kayak to use. Instructions were easy to follow and I'm one to get confused easily. Really didn't want for anything.

Family Fishing Trip

Great time! Family friendly! Would stay again! The fishing boat was a big plus! We put our trolling motor on it and our two oldest boys were rarely seen and we all caught keeper catfish and small bass, Swimming in front of the house wasn't good bc if low river level but we went to the waterfall and swimming hole north of river via boat and kayak and had a blast! The firepit was really nice! You can hear the plant across the river but you learned to tune it out. Looking forward to coming back next year!

Cute home

Pictures do not do this property any justice. The interior of the home is beautiful and well laid out for the space. The yard is huge, and while the river was full of floating algae near the bank, it did not stop us from going in. We didn't have the chance to utilize the kayaks and boat included, however, Chuck informed us of where to find the oars and life jackets. Would stay again!

Property was clean just kids had issues with bunk beds and both mattresses were old and very hard to sleep on. Kayaks need to be replaced and they have holes at the bottom of them, river is not what I expected. There was work truck with materials at the back of property.

Thanks, I slept on the futon last week when I was there, and it seemed fine to me, I'll check it out further the next time I'm there. I think the mattresses are abut a year old. Yep, people drag the kayaks on the rocks and it causes holes sometime, my daughter and her friends used them last week, I'll ask her about them. The dam construction is scheduled to be finished in November so the guy next door is having some work done to his bulkhead, before the water starts rising.

Great for family

We enjoyed this place, with its huge garden and access to river. House is very well equipped. We appreciated the kayaks and all the toys. There is indeed a factory in front of the house but we did not find it bothering. My only comment is that the level of the river was very low, but we can’t do anything about this. There is also a grocery store 5 minutes from the house and they have a huge selection of meat. I recommend this property to families with kids.
