Summary:
'Driftwood' at The Dune Cottages is a New Southern Cottage in downtown Charleston. Only a few blocks to famed King St. Enjoy this private cottage & charming gardens, with the city at your doorstep.

The Space:
Private cottage, with open kitchen & living spa fully appointed for your vacation. Calming cypress wood interiors and modern clean design offer an oasis in the heart of historic downtown Charleston. Comfortable bedrooms, equipped with hotel style linens & product, and en suite bathrooms. 2 level private cottage. Enjoy your stay with ease, with all of downtown's best right at your doorstep.

'Driftwood' at the Dune cottages accommodates up to 9 guests between 3 bedrooms & 3 baths.

Flex Bedroom #1 – King bed (or two twins) & Twin bed + Ensuite bathroom
Bedroom #2 – Queen bed + Ensuite bathroom
Bedroom #3 – Queen bed + Ensuite bathroom
Living Room – Queen-sized luxury memory foam sleeper sofa

*All ‘Flex’ rooms can be converted from King beds to two twins when requested*

Guest Access:
Each Town & Island Co. unit is equipped with coded lock and unique codes that are changed regularly. You will receive all important check-in information 3 days prior to arrival.
Early check-in or late check-out requests are evaluated and granted on a case-by-case basis. We offer a luggage storage space with a coded lock to the rear of the blue building at the front of the property (56 A & B) for all Blue Haven and Dune Cottages guests to use as needed.

The Neighborhood:
Cannonborough Elliotborough is a charming, hip neighborhood, dotted with indie boutiques, vintage stores, trendy eateries & bakeries. Residents, students, & vacationers enjoy a walkable lifestyle, just a few blocks from bustling Upper King Street.

Getting Around:
Located in the heart of the downtown peninsula, with a neighborhood location Rated a 97/100 walkability score. Explore Charleston with ease.

Too hot or too far to walk? Not a problem, Charleston offers a variety of transportation options such as a free downtown shuttle, pedicab, or ride share companies.

Other Things to Note:
Town & Island Co. is now happy to offer, through partnership with The Wonderer, all guests 25 and up access to Charleston’s premier global-inspired lifestyle club. This 2-acre private membership club nestled in downtown Charleston is a modern oasis offering resort-style amenities and a Bali-Tulum-inspired atmosphere unparalleled on the peninsula.

Refresh and relax at the Jr. Olympic pool complete with pool-side cabanas or savor the onsite eateries offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and trendy cocktails. Guests can also enjoy an indoor gym and fitness studio with daily classes, a recovery room full of spa therapies, private and shared workspaces, live music, and an active calendar of social events.

Once you confirm your reservation at The Wonderer, you will receive a link to book your time to visit the campus. Please note, all fitness classes and ticketed events are offered based on availability and may come at an additional cost.

*Please be advised that Town & Island Co. is not the same company as The Wonderer and offers this additional amenity to its guests through a partnership between the two companies. If access is not granted during your stay due to availability no inconvenience credits will be awarded. Any issues related to your visit at The Wonderer must be directed exclusively to The Wonderer staff.*


The Summer Haze comes with one on-site parking spots to the side of the house and next to the primary entrance. While theft is rare Charleston is a city and we encourage guests to ensure their cars are locked and all valuables have been removed.

Town & Island Co. welcomes all our furry companions. There is a $75 non refundable pet fee. You are responsible to inform us you are traveling with your pet(s), so we can add this charge to your booking. Please note: If upon check out, we see evidence of an unregistered pet, the $75 pet fee will be taken out of your SD authorization hold.
We ask guests traveling with their pets to not allow them on any furniture to maintain the quality and cleanliness of our human centered spaces. **no pets on furniture and beds**

*Severe Weather Policy*

Our severe weather and Extenuating Circumstances: Hurricane Policy is as follows:

If a Mandatory Evacuation Order is issued by the Governor of SC specifically for the county in which your property is located for the dates of your stay, the extenuating circumstances policy will be in effect. In this case we WILL refund any deposits or payments paid by the guest and we shall have no additional liability concerning the reservation.

However, if a Mandatory Evacuation Order is NOT issued by the Governor of SC, then the standard cancellation policy will still apply and no refund will be issued. This is the case even if the guest chooses to cancel or travel is disrupted due to the storm.

Additionally, if there is adverse weather phenomenon outside of Charleston or SC (ie. other regions of the US or abroad) during the dates of the guests' stay which hinders the guests from traveling to the property, the standard cancellation policy will still apply. Therefore, a refund will NOT be issued.

***ATTENTION***
Hurricane season is during the months of June-November. During this time we HIGHLY recommend guests research and purchase travel insurance.

Great late April stay
This property was a clean, bright, well-appointed house in historic Charleston. Beds were comfy, the outdoor patio was peaceful and the jasmine smelled delicious! The hosts were very easy and prompt to communicate with.

Beautiful place in a great location
Our family of five had a wonderful stay at this beautiful, clean, quiet place in a perfect location to explore Charleston. The entire process was very smooth with no issues and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Cleanliness, quality of furnishings, and private parking all contributed towards our enjoyment of this place. Situated in a great neighborhood spot and was very walkable to many of the highlights that Charleston has to offer. We would 100% recommend this place to anyone wishing to have a nice and comfortable place to explore Charleston.

Awesome Location
The cottage was clean and the beds comfortable. There were 5 adults in our group and we all had our own space. We really enjoyed our stay. So close to King Street! We walked almost everywhere. Highly recommend!!

Great Time
The home is beautiful and comfortable. There are 3 Adults with individual bathrooms (1 room downstairs, 2 rooms upstairs). Great location to downtown Charleston. I i would recommend this wonderful home.

Great weekend in Charleston
Stayed here with two buddies for a long-weekend reunion, and the house was great: 3 clean bedrooms each with own bathroom, set back from street for a quiet stay. Living room and kitchen area was perfect for 3 of us (might have been a bit tight for more). The location was the star of the show: just a couple blocks off of King Street, we walked everywhere we wanted to go the whole weekend. Thanks for making our trip excellent!
