Can't say enough about this property! We had a large group for a Five Generation Family Reunion. The accommodations were spacious and absolutely wonderful. The pool was clean, and ready for our enjoyment. Plenty of space, both interior and outdoor accommodations for guests to move about in large or small groups. Chef's Kiss to the two kitchens! With all the types of foods we prepared from the Rolling Fajita Bar for late arrivals first night to all inclusive family meal of Bœuf braisé aux pomme boulangère - well-equipped with more than enough dishes and cooking gear: waffle irons for breakfast, roasting pans, larger utensils, and large cooktop stoves. The fenced back yard with lots of room for croquet, badminton, and many yard other games even though we didn't set up any. Communication where needed with owner was promptly and discretely addressed. Everyone loved talking along the many seating areas on the oversized deck. So enjoyed by all and a vote for subsequent years!! Thank you Solara Team, this was our best trip yet!!!

Traveled with a large group and rented the two houses. It’s an amazing place for multiple families with kids. The large kitchen and dining area in the main house was great for meals, and everyone really enjoyed the pool. The only negative we experienced was the internet was down our entire stay due to a problem with the provider. The host was very communicative but was unable to find a solution while we were there. Aside from that issue we loved the property, and we would rent it again.

We loved the property! It held our large family easily with room to spare. I had to communicate with the hose almost every day, over little things, and they always replied. We were not impressed with the no internet situation, but there was a storm the day before check-in. The Kitchen in Dawn was large and the appliances in the pantry were a nice surprise. We loved the ability to cook whatever we desired with the pans provided. Dusk was smaller, but still functional. The parking was fantastic! We had 5 cars and 2 golf carts (rented) parked comfortably. The outdoor space was amazing. We used the pool every day and the grills were utilized as well. The children loved the swing set and the fire pit. We were a little disappointed about he basketball court not being in working order, but we still had fun.

Great for Family Gatherings

This property offered plenty of space and sleeping spaces for all of us, and we were a large group. There were things for all to do, and for all age levels. We were very satisfied with this property.

Perfect for our extended family vacation!

Solara Sands was perfect for our fairly large family vacation. The spacious accommodations were perfect for our needs and the pool was a big hit with the kids. The location was great - anything you need is within a couple minute drive, the beach is only a short 5 min walk, and the host even helped us get set up with a golf cart that was ready for us when we arrived. We all had an absolutely perfect vacation and would definitely stay here again!

So, possibly the best vacation home around for large family gatherings

We seriously may have stumbled across the BEST vacation home in the area for large family gatherings. This property is laid out in such a thoughtful and practical manner that really makes larger group gatherings so nice and easy. Many thanks to the hosts here for making this an incredible time!

Our yearly family beach trip

We had a family of 27 stay here last weekend, and the trip was fantastic. The layout of the houses was ideal for our large group. Bedrooms were great, having two kitchens was nice, the pool and the gas pit were a hit. We were close enough to the beach that we could come & go throughout the day. Our family said this was the best place we had ever stayed & they all vote to return again. Management was very responsive & helpful with our questions.

It was a beautiful property. It had lots of beds to sleep which was great and lots of amenities. It was unfortunate that the projector wasn’t working and when we had issues we got a very slow response from staff over the weekend. 6-7 hours to respond which is not helpful when trying to figure the oven out or other things we asked. Besides that the stay was a lot of fun for a big group.

Best beach house in Texas

This is the best beach property we have come across in Texas. They seemed to have thought of everything here! This was absolutely perfect for our family reunion. Two kitchens, multiple fire pits, game room, heated pool, enough bathrooms for the size of a property of this size (not always the case). They even had yard games and a guitar to use. It was perfect for us! We'll be booking the same time for next year!

Best Family Vacation Beach House

I had the best experience with Anson and Tailored Stays at the Solara Sands house. The house is even more beautiful in person, from the furniture and decor, to every comfort you could ever need being provided. The pool was the perfect addition and everyone enjoyed it, the kitchen was well stocked and we loved the welcome gifts that were left for us. The power went out on the first day and Anson made sure we were taken care of and sent over a maintenance person ASAP to help with getting everything fixed. This was by far the best vacation rental experience we have ever had! Thanks Anson!

Our new go to vaca spot

Me and a group of my old college friends have been doing an annual trip together each year for 15 years now, and this has by far been our best trip thus far. It checked different boxes for so many different considerations in our group... Pool, check. Bed for each adult, check. Theater/media room, check. Fire pit, check. We usually go to different locations each year, but that may be changing now. Oh, and the hosts, AMAZING. They were so thoughtful and attentive.

Incredibly unique and beautiful property!

Wow! I am so grateful my family came across Solara Sands! We were needing a space for a family reunion, and we were about to "settle" for something else that would've worked but did not "wow" us, but then a friend told us about this gem! Seriously, where else on the Texas gulf can you find a property that can sleep over 30 people, with two separate houses, a heated pool, theater room, elevator, fire pits, fully stocked kitchen (I could keep going)... I can tell you, I couldn't find it anywhere else. We will not only be back but intend on this being our go-to space for our family reunions!

We've fallen in love

I was unprepared for how the experience of falling in love with a vacation home. This home, the thoughtful touches and care through the entire process has left a lasting impression on myself and my family. We look forward to many more years of creating memories here! (Also, I underestimated how helpful it is to have ample bathrooms. It is one thing to have a lot of beds, it is another to have enough bathrooms where your family is not on top of each other. Solara Sands has 11 bedrooms, as well as 9 bathrooms. This really was helpful in making our stay all the more peaceful.)

Several minor problems keep me from giving 5 stars. The ac in one of the master bedrooms was not working. The ac tech replaced a breaker in the electrical box the next day. One stove was not fully functioning and no hot water to kitchen sink. Plumber fixed sink, but needed to order parts for the stove. The stove seemed to be a known issue. The basketball goal needs to be replaced or repaired and there were no darts for the dart board in the game room. 20 spatulas, but no can opener. The wifi in Dawn was very spotty. We were not able to use the tvs in Dawn due to the buffering. Also there needs to be a dvd player in the 2nd floor sitting room. There were lots of dvds provided, but no way to watch them. The charcoal grills need to replaced--they are in bad shape.That being said, it is hard to find a beach house with this many amenities. We used them all. No one got bored! We watched Movies in the projector room and it worked well. Played pool and used the fitness room. The private pool is well-maintained and was enjoyed by all, especially the kids. We loved the gas fire pit and used it each night (thanks for the smores gift basket!). Kitchens are mostly well stocked. The area is quiet and loved the convenience of the Big Store and Dollar General. Short walk to the beach. We planned for 36, but only 20 were able to make it. 36 would have been very crowded. 20 was very comfortable.Stayed 6 nights

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback and for giving us the opportunity to address several of the items during your stay. We've since replaced the AC system in the affected bedroom. It took a little time because we needed to source a new unit, but it's now fully operational. The stove issue was related to a faulty igniter, which we were already in the process of addressing. In the meantime, the burner could still be lit with a lighter until the replacement part was installed. We also appreciate you pointing out the missing kitchen items and the DVD player. We've restocked the kitchen essentials, and your note about the upstairs sitting room has been added to our improvement list. Nice space, but a few issues.

Our team of 25 stayed at these two homes for a work retreat. We had a good stay at Solara Sands, enjoying the homes (especially Dawn) and the new kitchen. The homes were clean and had been recently renovated due to a fire. The outside space and seating were also useful. I reached out during our stay to the home's manager regarding a few issues we had during our stay but some were left unresolved. Three sliding doors didn't close on bathrooms. The person they sent out to fix this issue wasn't helpful and said he would have to come back and take the trim off to be able to fix it. This made one room completely unusable which was a problem for our number of guests. We also had an issue with three smoke detectors beeping. The person they sent out again wasn't helpful and couldn't fix them. We ended up having to spend time dealing with this, taking off the smoke detectors and putting them in someone's car to stop the beeping from interrupting our time. The internet was spotty and we didn't always have the Tailored Stay Guest option that was given as a login. The final thing was a company came to pick up old appliances while we were there and asked us to move our cars. This should not have been scheduled when we were staying at the VRBO. Overall, we enjoyed the homes, but unfortunately did have some issues during our time there.

Company appreciation weekend

I put together a weened getaway for our small business as a little token of appreciation, and Solara fit what we needed perfectly. We brought our team of 26 and it was just right. They are also able to help line up various concierge services (golf cart, in-home chef, massage, etc)

Much needed vacation after house fire

We so desperately needed a vacation after our home caught fire (everyone was safe and well). We invited our entire extended family and a few friends as well, and Solara was so magical and perfect for our time to recover from the situation we were dealing with. So much gratitude to the Solara team.

Everything we needed!

Wow! Everything we needed! A few very practical & helpful aspects to the houses... Washer/Dryer in each house. Elevator. 2 Full kitchens. King Beds. There's more, but those stood out as really nice for our stay.
