This is such a great house for a big family! The location is awesome and there is plenty of room. It’s definitely got some wear and tear but is comfortable and the location makes up for it. Overall I would highly recommend!

We love Kiawah Island and are very familiar with the resort, but it was the first time staying at this particular home. The walk to the beach was very easy down a paved path that is shaded with trees! The home was comfortable and well appointed. The upstairs has two bedrooms and one bath. The bath is through the bedroom with the bunks. The host was super friendly and helpful and we would love to stay again!

The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the necessary cooking items that you could ever want.The pool at Herron Park is awesome and the kids had a great time every time we visited.

We never were able to use the oven and had to light the stove with a lighter, due to a breaker needing to be replaced. The barbecue was not useable, due to being rusty and the elements broken. The showers drained poorly and the shower faucet was difficult to turn off. Dirty, sandy floors, even under furniture and on top of bedspreads.

Great family getaway

Good to be just a short walk from the beach. We also really enjoyed having access to the resort pools - those were great fun. Kiawah is such a special place - great to have a wonderful family vacation there!

Our family vacationed on Kiawah Island from September 3–8 and stayed at this property. While we enjoyed the location, beach access, nearby trails, and the home itself, we experienced several significant issues that greatly impacted our stay.On our first evening, we discovered that the DirecTV service repeatedly lost its picture every minute or so, making it impossible to watch college football games. Although the owner sent maintenance the next day, the problem was not resolved, forcing us to stream games on a laptop for the remainder of the trip.The next morning, we found that the oven did not work due to a tripped breaker that could not be reset. Again, maintenance was sent, but the issue remained unresolved. With a group of nine, including two young children, this significantly disrupted our meal plans.We attempted to cook on the outdoor grill, only to discover that the igniter did not work. After purchasing a lighter, we were able to use the grill. During a later meal preparation, a baking dish shattered when placed on the stovetop after being removed from the grill, ruining the meal.We notified the property owner of these issues during our stay. We have since learned from another guest review that the oven issue had also occurred during an August stay, despite the owner telling us that “the oven was fine earlier this summer.” The owner should have addressed these issues with the oven when he first learned of the malfunctions.

You let us know right away, and we had maintenance on-site that day for both. We also issued a partial refund to make up for the inconvenience. Future guests should know the kitchen has a second oven, a GE Monogram Advantium speed oven that can bake, roast, and microwave, which was working throughout your stay. Since your visit, we’ve replaced oven and resolved the cable tv signal issue. About the baking dish: glass bakeware can shatter if it moves straight from high heat to a different surface, as happened when it went from the grill to the stovetop. We’re sorry your meal was ruined. We take maintenance seriously and appreciate feedback that helps us improve. We hope to welcome you back to Kiawah. — Greg

Very clean, well stocked and appointed. Comfortable beds. Screened porch, deck with BBQ, outside shower. Close to beach access boardwalk and bikepaths. All resort amenities are available. Weeklong family reunion for 7 adults and 2 year old. Everyone left relaxed and happy.

Great Family Trip

We spent a long weekend here with our family. The house was the perfect size for 8 adults and three toddlers. We found the house very clean and kid friendly. Close to the beach and the Night Heron Park. Loved being able to rent this home. You won't be disappointed!

Great spot!

We had a fantastic family vacation at this home. It was great! Newly remodeled, it looked even better in person than in the pictures. Great open kitchen was the perfect place to relax. Close walk to the beach and lots of wonderful wildlife to see. Nice bedrooms, it holds lots of people comfortably. Clean and well-maintained, we hope to rent this one again!

Family Vacation

Great house for a large family with kids and a perfect location as its easy to walk to the beach and bike anywhere on the island. The home needs from new furniture and same updating, but the host indicated that its being done in the fall and can't wait to see what they add.

Holiday Getaway

Our family - klds and grandkids - shared the Christmas holiday on Kiawah Island. We chose to rent this property because it appeared to be able to accommodate family dinners and get togethers....we were not disappointed. The home is very well equipped, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Location was excellent and we would most definitely stay here again.

Good Value and Location

Overall, our stay was good. Good location and great value for Kiawah Island house. Property owner, maintenance and housekeeping were very responsive to any of our issues. Property showing some age but still great value for size of house and people it can accommodate. Most issues reported were fixed quickly with exception of clothes washer. We purchused our beach house several years ago as a way to make sure our kids had the memories my wife and I had growing up each summer. We hope the families that stay in our beach house can have the fun, enjoyment and long lasting memories that we have had over the past 9 years.
