Quindici minuti ad est di Cashiers, e 55 minuti a sud-est di Asheville, N. C. è Mountain Laurel Cottage; una meravigliosa due camere da letto, due bagni di casa, che vanta una spettacolare vista a sud-ovest di Chimney Top e Whiteside Mountains.

Progettato da Al Platt (sì, lo stesso che ha progettato la HGTV Dream Home 2006 riconosciuta a livello nazionale), Mountain Laurel Cottage non solo sfrutta la straordinaria vista di questa tenuta di cinque ettari, ma offre anche una superba esperienza di montagna naturale. Godetevi una fresca brezza di montagna, o il calore di un fuoco scoppiettante, sul confortevole / arredato, schermato, soggiorno / veranda, che è l'area di famiglia comune della casa. Proiettato su tre lati, ha un alto soffitto a volta e consente di godere degli acri della natura circostante. All'interno della casa ci sono le camere da letto, i bagni, la zona giorno / soggiorno e la cucina che si apre su quella zona soggiorno / veranda protetta. Pace, tranquillità e privacy sono i tuoi vicini. Dal soggiorno / veranda, uscire su un ponte scoperto dove c'è una grande griglia a gas pronta per cucinare il tuo pasto preferito. Questa è davvero la vita di montagna designer!

La tenuta Mountain Laurel Cottage si trova ad un'altitudine di 3800 ft, su 320 acri, recintata, Preserve a Rock Creek. Con 215 degli ettari della Riserva dedicati alla conservazione; foreste incontaminate, abbondanti cascate e antiche formazioni rocciose sono tutte una splendida escursione.

Cucina raffinata, boutique / negozi, campi da golf / tennis aggiuntivi, più ruscello / pesca sul lago, escursioni rinomate e una moltitudine di incredibili cascate sono tutti in quindici minuti. C'è anche un ufficio postale, una stazione di servizio e un minimarket a cinque minuti da Mountain Laurel Cottage, sulla principale arteria est-ovest, la State Road 64.

Charming cottage with fabulous screen porch with beautiful Mountain View. Ideal for couples. Cottage is small but comfortably furnished and well equipped, with very nice master bedroom. Location convenient to Gorges State park and other great hiking spots. Good restaurants nearby in Sapphire and Cashiers. Would definitely come back.

The house is lovely, the bed was comfortable and the inside of the house was very clean. The view is great. It’s easy to get there. We did have to clean the porch furniture with the vacuum cleaner, but that was fine. However, the Wi-Fi did not work. If you don’t need the internet, you’ll be okay. Otherwise, it’s a slog.

Wonderful Holiday Get Away

Great pet friendly home!

We had a wonderful stay for a week this fall. Community is beautiful with on site hiking and waterfalls as well as many public trails within a few minute drive. Highly recommend it, we will definately return.

Perfect mountain cabin

Adults, teens and puppy loved this cozy cabin with huge screened in porch featuring gorgeous mountain view and wood burning fireplace. Very private and quiet yet well located between amenities and activities in Cashiers and Lake Toxaway.

Husband and I spent a week at this cabin and loved the location because of the security of the gated preserve and the privacy. Very few cars go up or down the road in a day, and you don’t have any close neighbors. Cabin is well stocked and beds are comfy. It was immaculate upon our arrival. We spent most of our time out on the screen porch with a fire going. Love the view of the mountains and the sunsets are amazing here. Lots of hiking nearby including on the property. This is our second stay, and we will be back.

This was our third stay over the past 12 years so we do love the place—the setting and the screened in porch/deck can’t be beat. The kitchen is better stocked with pans and utensils since prior stays but be aware you’ll need to bring your own seasonings (like salt and pepper). We weren’t able to get the gas fireplace to work or to have the firewood to burn very good so ultimately bought some Duraflame logs. A great place to relax and hear nature!

There is so much to enjoy on the Preserve’s 320 acres including walking the Rock Creek trail and climbing to the waterfalls, horseback riding in our meadow, trout fishing in our two ponds or simply exploring the 115 species of flora and 100 species of animals that live on the Preserve. There is all of the great outdoors to enjoy but sometimes its about sitting on the porch and enjoying the views. Also, near by is swimming, golf, tennis, fine dining and family activities.

National Parks & Recreation Areas:

Mt. Laurel Cottage located in The Preserve at Rock Creek is nestled within the Nantahala National Forest, the largest national forest in North Carolina and home to many of the area’s waterfalls. There are lots of activities to enjoy in the Nantahala.

Gorges State Park is filled with plunging waterfalls, rugged river gorges, sheer rock walls and one of the greatest concentrations of rare and unique plant species in the eastern United States.

Panthertown Valley boasts a density of biodiversity equal to that of a plateau high in the Himalayas, it is practically next door to the Preserve at Rock Creek.

The 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway is accessible at many points in this area and the Parkway is great way to take in the gorgeous views. With so many things to do you can easily spend day after day on the Parkway.

Pisgah National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are all within an hour of the entrance to the Preserve at Rock Creek. With all these recreational areas, the number of hiking trails and other outdoor activities are too numerous to mention.

In addition to the waterfalls, the area’s diverse and plentiful plant life is a true highlight, with spring and summer’s wildflowers giving way to the hardwood forest’s impressive displays of color when leaves change in the fall.
