We stayed at Shearer Cabin at Shady Point Resort for 4 days and 3 nights and had a wonderful, relaxing stay. The location was one of the highlights. Our cabin was right by the water, with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Two bedrooms faced the lake, and the sunroom was a perfect place to sit, enjoy the beautiful view, and relax. There was plenty to do, including kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, badminton, volleyball, and hiking nearby. The area was also great for stargazing at night. We enjoyed seeing other guests having campfires and fireworks, which added to the cottage atmosphere. The cabin was clean, private, and comfortable, with both air conditioning and heating. We experienced a sudden cold snap toward the end of our stay, and the heating struggled a little to warm the entire cottage, but it was manageable and didn't affect our overall experience. The property was very peaceful, and since we visited outside the school vacation period, it sometimes felt like we had the place to ourselves. There is also a playground and sauna, although we didn't get to use them.Foodland and other amenities are within walking distance, which was very convenient.Overall, we had a great experience. Waking up beside the lake, spending time on the water, and relaxing in the sunroom made our stay especially memorable. We would definitely come back!
