The villa is beautiful and our host was genuinely kind and very responsive throughout our stay. He always replied quickly, tried to troubleshoot issues, and even encouraged us to help ourselves to fruit from his trees, which was a lovely touch. The air conditioning was also excellent, a huge bonus on the hotter days.Unfortunately, there were some practical issues. One bathroom was unusable — flushing the toilet caused the shower and sink to bubble up — and in a different bathroom the toilet seat was broken. The electrical breakers also tripped easily when cooking. The photos also don't make the bedroom layout clear. Two bedrooms are effectively part of the route to other bedrooms/bathrooms, meaning people need to pass through them which can be awkward for a group. For a large group, the house really needs a proper information booklet with photos/instructions for switches, remotes, breakers, etc. Only two bathrooms had hand soap, and there weren't enough hand towels, bin bags or cleaning supplies. We also weren't aware that pool towels aren't provided, which should be made much clearer before arrival. The listing says parties are allowed, but there was no advance warning that music had to stop at 11pm. For a large group of friends, this felt quite restrictive and would have been helpful to know before booking.Overall, the villa has a lot going for it and the host was lovely, but it needs maintenance and clearer guest information. It would be well suited to families.
