Great host, vintage beach house with good updates. Deck railing repair will make this an ideal place to stay in Ocracoke for many years to come!

Looks like a couple original nails finally gave out, making that center post loose. I'm meeting my builder there tomorrow to put a new bolt through it and take care of it. We had an amazing time at Marshmellow! Derek was a wonderful host and the house was so clean and spacious. We had so much fun riding around Ocracoke in the golf cart and having sunset drinks on the screened in back deck. This house has everything you need and more! I was especially excited to see that there was a ceiling fan additional fan in each room. I typically travel with a fan but I slept like a baby when I used the Shark fan that was there. Such a perfect weekend celebrating a milestone birthday. Thank you, Derek! We hope to book Marshmellow again!

We had such a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend at the cottage. Great location and had all the amenities we needed. Definitely would highly recommend if you are looking for a wonderful cottage to stay at while visiting Ocracoke.

Property was well maintained and equipped with some nice appliances. Landscaping was well taken care of. You can really tell a lot of thought and care was taken to make sure guests were getting their money’s worth. Great neighborhood. Quiet and peaceful. Will definitely consider staying again and recommending to family and friends.

Excellent property, quiet location, plenty of room and amenities. Beautiful decks all around the house great for sitting outside.Well equipped kitchen.Everything was great.Our host was always quick to respond if we had any questions.Very nice and convenient to have a golf cart at the property ready to use.It was a terrific stay.

The property was very clean and was very pet friendly. The an available golf cart was very convenient and not offered at all rentals. Very close to the beach access points and the grocery store. The host was very accommodating and friendly. This was our second time renting this property and we are hoping to rent again next year.

Derek's home was fantastic to stay at once again! This time around we had a group of friends with us and the house was perfect for five adults, a baby, and two dogs. Derek is also a great VRBO host who is prompt to respond to messages, and is just a really kind dude who we were lucky to meet while we were on the island this time around. I already have recommended his VRBO to others and will certainly continue to do so!

MarshMellow has EVERYTHING you can think of for your stay on Ocracoke. Much to our surprise there were views from every deck of the house and a HUGE backyard for our furbabies. The golf cart was a huge win. Anything you need in the kitchen is supplied for you, as well as basic bathroom toiletries and linens. (There are even fans supplied in bedrooms if you tend to be a little on the hot side....no need to bring one) Loved the entryway into the home where you can just drop everything. That space is nicely set up to organize your things when you come in (doggie bags provided, how nice!) There are options for separate entrances if you wish to not disturb others that you are traveling with.....that is a huge bonus. Locks on all the screen doors to keep everyone safe, inside and outside. The only thing we found that could use a small tweaking was the gathering space in the living room could be a little more comfortable, and we only say that because we spent more time than most inside because we had a storm come through during our stay. The coffee table is a little tipsy (although gorgeous) be careful if you have little ones. It seems to just need a fourth leg placed on it to stabilize it. It could hurt a little one or a pet. It did tip over a couple of times on us just with a toddler leaning on it, luckily we caught it before anything happened. Other than that, the house is top notch and we will definitely be staying again! LOVE LOVE LOVE the MarshMellow!

We had a wonderful stay at Derek’s place! There isn’t anything you could possibly need that isn’t in this home awaiting you. It was going to be colder weather, than we had originally anticipated, so Derek went out of his way to ensure the gas fireplace and heat was working perfectly for us upon our arrival. He truly went above and beyond, with all his recommendations and special touches, to ensure we had the perfect stay! Thank you for everything Derek!
