We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend getaway!! I have been extremely busy and needed a break and my husband always takes May 30th to reflect and remember the day of his dad's passing. This was a perfect location for both of us to have a quiet, peaceful, calming, relaxing time. We explored the property, made friends with the animals, fished and fished and fished... then relaxed on the front porch and watched the sunsets. Never once turned the tv on the entire time we were there. We will most definitely be back and bring the kids next time (there goes the quiet - HA!!!). Lindsay was an excellent host, great communication and very responsive to our needs. Thank you for offering your beautiful ranch for others to enjoy!

This farmhouse cabin is by far one of the most beautiful and welcoming places I have ever stayed. The pictures of the outside do not do it justice! The inside is just as pictured on the site and brings you joy and comfort just being there! My navigation/GPS had issues, and the homeowner and the ranch foreman were so very kind to help me and my friend navigate to the wonderful house! If you are looking for some total relaxation, stay here and enjoy!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this farmhouse in Smithville, Oklahoma! From the moment we arrived, we could tell this place was something special. The farmhouse was beautiful, peaceful, and one of the best VRBO properties we’ve ever stayed in. Everything was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully stocked with anything you could possibly need during your stay. The communication with the host was outstanding from start to finish. Lindsay was friendly, responsive, and made sure we felt completely at home. The scenery around the property was breathtaking and so relaxing. We loved sitting outside watching the cows and horses roam the property, and every evening we were treated to the incredible sight of lightning bugs lighting up the night — such a magical experience! The location was perfect as well — close enough to Broken Bow and Hochatown to enjoy all the attractions, while still feeling private and peaceful. My son and I had an amazing time fishing in the pond and caught plenty of bass and crappie. Meanwhile, my wife and daughter enjoyed relaxing on the front porch, reading books, taking walks, and soaking in the beautiful surroundings. This farmhouse truly offered something for everyone in our family. If you’re looking for a scenic, quiet, and unforgettable getaway, we highly recommend staying here. We can’t wait to come back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful review. Reading about your family's stay truly made my day! I love hearing that each of you found something special to enjoy—from the fishing pond and the bass and crappie catches to quiet mornings on the porch and peaceful walks around the property. Those simple moments are really what it's all about. The lightning bugs this time of year are one of my favorite things about the farm, and I'm so glad you got to experience their magic. Thank you also for your kind words about my communication. I always want guests to feel welcomed and at home, so hearing that means a lot. It was truly a pleasure hosting your family, and I'm honored that the farmhouse was part of your time together. We welcome you back anytime and we can't wait for your next visit!!

From the moment we drove onto the ranch, we felt a sense of peace. The property is secluded and private. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated and feels warm and cozy. Our favorite part was sitting on the long front porch in the swing and rocking chairs, watching the cattle feed in the pastures and viewing the surrounding mountain scenery. Lindsay is a wonderful host who is thoughtful, caring, and attentive to every detail. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return!

Good for the soul!

This farmhouse is nothing short of perfect. I love that it’s outside the crazy Hochatown area but close enough to head in for the safari or lunch. It’s perfectly situated on the land near the pond and roaming farm animals. It’s decorated so sweetly and super comfy throughout. The host was amazing with communication and local recommendations! Our son loved the pond and caught many fish during our stay. We can’t wait to make another trip back and stay at the farmhouse again!

What a dream and answer to prayer this place was for our family! The beautiful Farmhouse, rolling hills with cattle and horses, fire-pit area and huge fishing pond were even better than you see in the photos. If you are searching for a deep/true peace, a quiet (only the sound of the wind in the trees, the bugs, the geese, and the cattle/horses), a much slower pace, relaxed front porch sitting, long walks in beauty, and a cracking fire with roasting s’mores and stars like you have never seen before then THIS is the place for you! The Farmhouse was so gorgeous inside and out. The kitchen is equipped with beautiful top-notch appliances, dishes, essential tools/gadgets and a gas range. There was also a stack of incredible cookbooks for inspiration. I had such a fun time cooking for my family here! The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, had comfortable beds and pillows, as well as luxurious bedding/linens. The bathrooms were so pretty and well appointed with plush towels, and all that you would need in the way of soap and shampoo, etc. Two things that really stood out to me as EXTRA special were—waking to cows mooing in the mornings and the CD player that can be heard throughout the house with beautiful instrumental music. I played it every single day!The Farmhouse is the perfect place for walks, naps, baking, fishing, reading, exploring, star-gazing, drawing/painting, bird watching, and just enjoying all nature has to offer. Lindsay was a gracious host in every way!

We loved!!

This property is phenomenal! The pictures are beautiful, but in person you’ll be even more blown away. My husband and I loved just sitting on the porch taking in God’s handy work - the mountain ridges, pastures, water, trees, cows, horses, etc.The pond is HUGE and perfect for fishing! Lindsay has done an amazing job decorating the house. From the moment you step in, you feel at home (but even better but it’s perfectly curated and clutter-free!). She’s the best host - gives tons of information and very responsive. We enjoyed some days on property, but you’re also close to Hochatown to do all the fun touristy things and then can escape back to the farmhouse. In Smithville, I recommend Three Rivers Meat Company for breakfast or lunch. They also have a retail meat market and grocery essentials.Thank you, Lindsay! We will be back.

FANTASTIC GET-AWAY !!

If you are seeking a lovely place to stay, and peaceful surroundings are important to you, then this is where you need to be. This is a wonderful place to stay. We saw beautiful horses & cattle, had an entire peaceful, stocked pond to fish with no one else around. There was no traffic noise during the quiet evenings, simply listening to nature as it wakes each day and resides for the evening. The house is equipped with all modern conveniences, an exceptional kitchen with a wide variety of accessories to make some wonderful meals. Bedrooms are large & comfortable, and the house invites you to stay & relax. Whether it is having a warm beverage in the morning on the front porch if you want to experience the sunrise, or a cool beverage during the evening as you see the sun fade away, this is a great place to be, and I will definitely be coming back again.🙂

Peaceful Getaway

Just what the doctor ordered!!! This beautiful farmhouse is exactly what we needed to destress from our day to day life. From the beginning Lindsay was amazing with providing everything we needed to prepare for the trip to make it easy to build an itinerary of places to visit, but once we got to the farmhouse, we honestly didn't want to leave. You're morning coffee on that front porch swing with crisp beautiful weather and nothing but the sounds of nature. It was honestly a dream come true. My 8 and 4 year loved to adventure the property and go fishing with dad and grandpa. This property is a memory maker for your family and natures reset from your day to day. House was incredibly clean and well maintained, made you feel right at home. Will not hesitate to stay here again and share with friends and family! 100% recommend!

Perfect Getaway!

From the moment we drove into the ranch I knew it was going to be everything we hoped for and more. We live in the DFW area and wanted a place to slow down for a week outside of the hustle and bustle. This property sold me right away with 220 acres to explore and a stocked fish pond on the property. The property is very well cared for and the farm house is beautiful. You can see and feel how much everything is loved and cared for. The farm house was the perfect size for our family with everything we needed to cook and enjoy the peacefulness. We enjoyed exploring the property, fishing, watching the cows and horses, and bird watching. We drove to Hochatown every day to find a fun outing for our 6 year old which he absolutely loved. Lindsay sent great outing ideas and places to explore. This was our first trip but definitely will not be our last. We can’t wait to go back and visit the ranch! It far exceeded our expectations and was such a wonderful and relaxing week.

Slice of HEAVEN!!!

I can not even begin to express my love for this place. Pictures do not do it justice. Lindsay is the most amazing host ever. I told her that I thought of her as a friend by the time we left because she was there for us with every detail. You can tell the moment you book that this is the love of her heart. I have been thinking for days how to put into words my love for The Farmhouse. My recommendation is get groceries and lock yourself in, we ventured to Hocatown a couple times and it was pure chaos, I could not wait to get back to The Farmhouse. Be prepared for peace and tranquility, the simplicity of nature, animals, and a beautiful place to lay your head. The beds were very comfortable in fact we took pictures of the pillows and blankets because they were so comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality appliances and cookware. The porch oh that porch was wonderful to sit on the swing and watch the animals. The horses are beautiful and will graze so close that you can him them chewing, the cattle will come through right where you are fishing. I would recommend bringing folding chairs to take to the pond to sit while fishing. The privacy at the Farmhouse is 220 acres of beautiful rolling hills, pond, and pastures beautifully maintained. I literally can not put into words what a wonderful time we had. My kids are 17 and 15, we pulled in and realized that the wifi would be decent at best and I thought oh no they are going to kill me 4 days without Wifi. but they did not we went back to the basics of reading, fishing, enjoying the beauty of God's creations, board games, corn hole, and family. The memories made will last a lifetime. I promise you, you will not be disappointed. Lindsey has a heart of gold and will go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. On our way home I knew that other guest were checking in later that day and I looked to my husband and said, "Is it bad that I am jealous that other people will be there tonight and not us" ha ha!!! We will go back again there is no doubt in my mind!!! Thank you Lindsey for sharing this gem with the rest of us!!!

Beautiful property! Great for families with kids, young and old. We had a wonderful time roaming the property, fishing in the pond, and saying hello to the animals. The host was super informative and responsive.

This has been by far our absolute favorite family vacation. Everything was truly amazing. We made so many fun memories whether it be swimming in the nearby crystal-clear creeks, playing family board games, fishing in the stocked pond or just relaxing outside and enjoying the cattle and mountain views. The town itself has a dollar general and wonderful gas station/restaurant with great food choices. The house is stunning; beautifully decorated and so clean. We WILL be visiting this location again. Thanks for making this vacation so special!!!

Hi! We are the Laxton Girls! We live in North Dallas but our happy place is Oklahoma. We love sharing our family Farmhouse with all of our amazing guests! Our ultimate goal is to create a place of refuge for families and couples to disconnect from the busyness of daily life and reconnect with one another. To put the devices down and experience the beauty of nature and the joy of being outside-creating life long memories and experiences.

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

When we say pictures don't do this place justice, we truly mean it! There is something special about gazing out at the rolling pastures at The Farmhouse and watching the cows and horses graze. Sitting on the front porch when the breeze hits just right and you can hear the trees rustle and watch the pond ripple...all with the beautiful Boktuklo mountains as the backdrop. The Farmhouse and property are unique because aside from being beautiful, its quiet, peaceful and private, while still being close enough to enjoy Hochatown-it's truly the best of both worlds!
