Large family getaway

A lot of house

The house is beautiful. It was perfect for our group of 10 ladies. We got there right at 5:00 but the cleaning lady wasn’t finished. We had issues with elevator and pool but management responded quickly. We found a frying pan in the cabinet that had dried eggs still in it. Overall it was a good trip and we loved the house. It would be very helpful if you had a notebook in the house with directions for elevator, pool, and hot tub.

Beautiful home and great fit for our family

Huge home with stocked kitchen, private bathrooms for every bedroom, TV’s everywhere, double fridge, double dishwasher, mini fridges and ice makers(never had to buy ice for our coolers for the beach). Each bathroom had a small toiletry set(shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, lotion). Towels and linens included. The beach is calm and relaxing. You don’t have to rush out in the morning to set up your beach tent/chairs like you do at other beaches. The elevated pool allows a perfect view out to the beach if you like to keep an eye on the older kids while you’re at the house. Grocery is about 15 minutes away (piggly wiggly). Alcohol is sold at gas stations and general stores (not grocery store). We cooked large meals for our family, but also several restaurant options in the area if you want to eat out which we did a couple times in smaller groups. I had wondered about the bayou water crossing between the house and beach and if we could access the beach. Yes, we were able to walk out to the beach from the house but had to walk a little to the right and through a small shallow area of the water. Was not a deal breaker by any means. We would absolutely stay here again!

We greatly enjoyed the fact that there were fewer people in this area of the beach. While the stream was a major issue, we did rent a cart that helped us to navigate it. Having a front row seatseatto the beauty of the ocean was an experience beyond words.

Pros: house is great size. It’s very nice and was clean. We had large family of 16 and plenty of room. Plenty of bedrooms and baths. Plenty of room for everyone to sit for meals and hanging out together and separately. View is beautiful! Nice pool area. Two large fridges, 3 mini fridge and two ice makers and dishwashers were great! Plenty of parking. Close to town. We had yellow flags when Cape had double red first of week.Cons: water pressure was terrible all through the house. Most of the bathrooms had no hot or even warm water after 3rd day. Called to report 3 times and we’re just told they would call plumber. No one ever came. There is a cracked window near ceiling on main floor, and bugs came in - noseeums I believe. We vacuumed them up every night. Reported this also. Exterminator came while we were about to sit down for dinner and said he would come back. He never came back. You definitely cannot access the beach directly due to the bayou in front of the house although others had commented you can. The property description stated this, but we were hoping. Recommend golf cart to get to beach access - @ 1/2 mile. We also rented paddleboard and crossed with that, but there were gators in there. They never came close. Some of the men walked across in waist deep water, but it was gross! Gulf water is not clear in this area. It’s more like the Atlantic.
