Newer Nolin Lake - Mammoth Cave area, Lake Front

We take tremendous pride in maintaining our lake house and providing our guests with a clean, comfortable, and well maintained property. This is reflected in our consistent 10/10 star reviews. Unfortunately, this guest stay was a very disappointing experience for us. After their departure, we discovered significant issues that went well beyond normal wear and tear. We are pet friendly and just ask for a disclosure and a fee up front. But this renter brought TWO dogs without disclosing and left urine that had to be professionally cleaned. The bed frame and slats were broken and had to be replaced. And a toilet seat left broken. Communication throughout the stay was glowing and we reached out to them when we noticed the internet had gone down. This renter texted not to worry about it because they were enjoying a technology free stay and didn’t attempt to reboot the internet as he stated in his review. Our cleaning crew plugged the internet in immediately and has been working perfectly. It is clear these renters didn’t want outside security cameras to pick up on the dogs. When asked if we could send someone to fix the outdoor fireplace he replied not to worry about it because they wouldn’t be at the house. I have receipts from consistent bug control and have never had a problem mentioned from renters or cleaning crew about bugs in the home. We stay there too and are very picky about that. We appreciate honest feedback and always strive to make improvements. However, we believe future guests deserve to know that this particular stay resulted in significant property damage and violation of our rental policies. Again, this renter provided glowing communication until we discovered the damage and that they had dogs at the time of their departure. And VRBO has documentation of not only the positive experience the renters were communicating, but also have pictures of the damage discovered upon departure. The septic smell was never brought tonourbattention during this stay. We have looked into this and there is no smell or overflow. Lake access is under maintenance by core of engineers until a tree gets removed. We have enjoyed amazing renters over the last 3 years and look forward to many more in our meticulously maintained home :)
