Dogwood Cabin - Off Grid

Dogwood Cabin is an off grid adventure. Find the benefits of nature and a sense of peace in this unique and tranquil getaway. Think glamping. There is no electricity, no running water, no central heat, and no internet. It boasts an outhouse and a few solar and battery lights. This cabin is a great place to sit around the fire pit, listen to the fox bark, the coyotes howl, the hoot owls hoot, and the birds sing. Deer and turkey run the woods. Lots of trees to hang your hammock.

Dogwood Cabin sits on top of a ridge overlooking a gently flowing brook and lots of trees and woodsy plants and flowers. As you arrive, you will notice a black barn a bit beyond the gate, with a winding gravel drive up and around the hill to the cabin. Use caution, the driveway is wide enough, but the edge drops off quite steeply! 4 wheel drive recommended. No low clearance vehicles.

The cabin has a table and 2 chairs, 2 benches, a small kitchenette with a few pots, pans, and dishes. There is a 2 burner propane camping stove, coffee percolator and coffee.

The unique circular stairway enables you to get to the loft, where there are 3 twin and 1 full mattress. No linens provided. We strongly suggest sleeping bags and hammocks for your sleeping comfort. Plenty of trees to hang hammocks.

An outhouse is provided, with toilet paper.

A Buddy propane heater will take off the chill, but in cooler weather, it will not be cozy. Bring plenty of clothes and blankets.

Bring water in jugs, to drink, clean up and douse the campfire. We expect you to wash any dishes you use.

Very nice newer cabin out in the holler! Was clean and private. The people around was fantastic locally. Only issue out there is communication due to losing service but that’s the point of the location. No electronics. Loved it and would go again for a hunting trip!

Retreat in the woods

It rained the entire weekend I was in Ohio but the one night I stayed at the Dogwood Cabin, the front porch swing was peaceful and enjoyable

We had a lovely evening at the house. It was cozy, remote, and full of the sounds of nature! We highly recommend to everyone who enjoys moderately roughing it! We will be back!

Beautiful cabin, great location

Lovely secluded cabin. We had a great time. Neighbors started up a jam session around 11:30pm and had some trippy music echoing through the hills, but we were digging it. I would definitely come back.

Get Back to Nature

This was exactly as described. A beautiful little cabin completely off the grid. We could hike near by and relax in the total peace and quiet. As far as being off the grid it truly is. No cell service / No power / No Water. It is camping with a roof! We loved it and would definitely book again. Thanks so much for a weekend away.

I stayed here with my partner and two young kids and we had a great time! We initially passed the gate (because we didn't read all of the host's instructions) but turned back and found it easily. The listing doesn't mention a small sink that empties into a bucket (no plumbing), which was a pleasant surprise. I was a bit worried someone would bump into the stairs and brought pool noodles to cover up the edges, which we didn't end up using, and we all got away unscathed. The Hocking Hills area is extraordinary and there was so much to see, so we didn't spend too much time at the cabin. I would love to go back and explore more of the Dogwood Cabin property sometime.

Heat wave

Unfortunately due to the heat wave we were only able to stay at the property for a couple hours. Its a shame I lost money on it, but it was just to hot. Nice little cabin, room enough for 2 people, not any more. Be careful of the steps up to the loft there is a loose one, also my husband hit his head on them they are in the center of the room. Wouldnt recommend for kids
