it needs to be disclosed how bad the driveway is and getting to cabin, was extremely steep and winding.

The cabin was welcoming and beautiful. The river in the back is perfect for kids to play in and the back deck gives great views of the river. There is so much to do that we didn't have to leave the cabin hardly all weekend to find entertainment. It's about 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge and about 30 minutes from a kid-friendly waterfall hike and the Aska trail. The neighborhood roads and driveway are extremely steep and a bit scary to drive on, so be aware if you're not used to that. This cabin is managed by a large company, so communication was a bit spotty when reaching out with questions before our stay, but we were able to get by ok.

Both nights there was rodents in the ceiling. There was three of us that slept in the upstairs common space area. We did not get any sleep either night due to the rodents. The back door connected to the main floor deck did not lock. The top lock wouldn't lock, and the bottom would lock but could still open. It was not completely dirty, but it was freshly cleaned. There was sticky stuff in the downstairs queen bedroom. There were dead bugs throughout the house. We had to clean the dishes before using them. The outside headed to the creek needs attention. Other than that, the house was pretty and perfect for a girl's trip.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m very sorry your stay was disrupted by the issues you described. Rodents in the ceiling are unacceptable, we’ve scheduled an immediate pest inspection and treatment and will identify and seal any entry points. The door lock should have been secure; maintenance will repair or replace the locks and verify all exterior doors function properly. I apologize the cleaning fell short, we’ve notified housekeeping to perform a deep clean, remove dead bugs, address the sticky area in the downstairs bedroom, and inspect/replace any affected dishware. We’ll also have grounds maintenance address the path to the creek. Thank you for letting us know, your comments help us make improvements, and I’m sorry your trip was affected.

Great views

Great views. AWD is recommended for the steep hill to get to the cabin. Spiderwebs were found on the ceiling at the bottom room. Furniture was also dusty. We were charged an extra $55 after our stay because the water was dirty after using the the jacuzzi. Beware of this charge. There was also a leak at the top room that came down to the bottom room and on to the bed. We brought it to their attention right away. Hopefully this gets resolved for future guests. Chairs outside are locked so no way of sitting on the red chairs for more comfort so I would recommend to bring some lawn chairs if you don’t want to sit on the logs.

Worth the steep driveway!

Overall, amazing and worth risking life and limb. Unfortunately, got there after dark, driveway was hard to find, starting off with a blind right turn and on a crazy 90 degree decline. The cabin itself was beautiful. Huge, lots of sleep space. (Beds in the loft could use a headboards to keep from hitting the rocks/wood.) Dining room table was dirty, but not earth ending. However, outside needs some TLC. Broken glass bottles in the rocks and trash on the lawn. 3 random piles of wood with in about 20 feet of each other and chained up chairs under a metallic silver tarp - right in the view of the creek. Only issues: driveway and revamping the outside space to be a bit more inviting. Overall - worth the $$ and death by driveway.
