Decades ago, Marilyn, a retired dancer and 1950's founder of a dance school had a dream of building her "Swedish Fantasy House" on a hilltop.

Then, in her eighties, she built it.

Yes, the accommodations were well prepared for our arrival. There is a cute little sleeping nook that one of our kiddos loved sleeping in. The beds were comfortable and the living room cozy.

Tucked away in the bluffs of LaCrosse.

It was perfect for our family, as we needed a location close to Mt. LaCrosse for a wedding. It has easy access to the downtown LaCrosse sights.

High School State Ice Fishing Tournament

We stayed at this beautiful home in the bluffs for our high school boys State Ice Fishing Tournament. Everything was amazing, beautiful, clean and beautifully decorated. Highly recommended!

Property pictures are outdated. Living room does NOT look like the pictures. Furniture & rug are stained & very worn. Hole in pillow. Pillows are worn out. Thinning fabric on chair. Ill-fitting sofa cover was put on one of the sofas to cover the stains. Host was made aware of this last year from a guest but denied knowledge. Porch is missing furniture & rug. No shower curtain in the main bathroom. Water damage to the bedroom floor because of this. Landscaping very overgown. Host was made aware of this last year from another guest. Property is not being maintained, which is a shame. It could be so charming. The host was "challenging." The property was clean (inside) and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Lots of beautiful trees in the area. Private. Very steep driveway. With some TLC, this property could be a winner.

Enjoyed overall

Inside of house as expected, unique. Very clean and comfortable beds. We did not expect the driveway to be so steep and difficult to access. The listing showed a pond but not sure where that was located. Consider adding more eating utensils please. Thanks for sharing your home.

This is an unique beautiful offering and the house is not like any where else you might stay because of its finishing touches, painting and charm. The rooms, linens and space was very much ready for us to enjoy. There is plenty of space for a family to move about in. Its enchanting! One of a kind. The not so great issues were we tried to contact the property manager via the numbers provided and received no answer twice. For the price point the sofas were terribly stained (even a grandchild noticed) and not acceptable. The grounds outdoors have become very overgrown, deteriorated walls and sitting outdoors is not really accessible with furnishings, etc. There are a few cracks in the butcher board countertop near the sink which might make the dish area not as sanitary although the sink was clean and ready for us. I grew up very near to this location and was renting for my Mother's funeral so it was close and convenient as you might recall. However, my sister and family rented another rental in LaCrosse also nearby that you manage and own and she received a discount because of bereavement. In conclusion, we would say stay, but a few updates and repairs need to be added for 600.00 nightly.

Super adorable property! Very unique!Plenty of space for everyone. Downstairs had a second kitchen and another washer/dryer. Lots of wildlife - saw deer and turkeys. Smelled like a dog had been there previously. Definitely not pet-free. Coffee maker didn’t work. Ants invaded the kitchen as soon as we started making food. Road up to the property is very narrow and very winding. Driveway is extremely steep!
