The house was comfortable for our group. Social spaces were a nice size for small groups. Good proximity to water. Great for swimming. Water was deep and clean. Very very steep driveway, but navigable.

Had a cleaning and dock issue when we first arrived but the owner took care of it immediately. Very responsive!

Our family had a wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving holiday! The house was very well kept with stunning views. We were even able to make a complete Thanksgiving dinner in the well-appointed kitchen. We loved every minute and would definitely book again!

The property was beautiful and host was very responsive. The place had great access to the lake, amenities were wonderful—-pool table, hot tub and corn hole boards.The kitchen was well stocked.I would highly recommend this property to others.

Lake House was enjoyed by all for our daughter’s graduation from Liberty University . Large kitchen was a plus and living room -enjoyed hockey playoffs on large tv -we rented a jet ski and used the outside dock and sitting area . Beds were very comfortable. AC worked well as it was 91 the last 2 days we were there . Owner called when we were having difficulty w the door code and explained all about the cabin -and that we could use the garage for parking . Corn hole tournaments ensued every night and really had a great time over all . Highly recommend for a large family Vacation at the lake .

Very comfortable place. Lovely dock and lake access. Has most all amenities in the kitchen. Kitchen is huge and the pantry is wonderful!

Perfect family spot to celebrate LU Graduation

We had family coming from AZ, IA, IN, and GA to celebrate a doctoral graduation at Liberty University. This property was a perfect spot to accommodate our group. The kitchen was well stocked and there were so many options to sit inside and out. We enjoyed the pool table and firepit too.

Absolutely gorgeous SML home - lots of space, great layout, pretty views and many amenities at Blue Heron set stage for great experience at SML. The dock is well stocked with toys and seating. Great house, great vacation. Thank you.

Wonderful fall getaway

We had a wonderful long weekend at Blue Heron Point! The weather was beautiful for October and we enjoyed spending time together as a family sitting on the dock, kayaking, sitting in the hot tub, playing corn hole and sitting around the fire pit. The house is beautiful and was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

Our stay here was fabulous! It’s a beautiful home with a beautiful dock. We were not prepared for the steep driveway or the amount of stairs down to the dock but, we spent the day on the lake anyway so we considered it exercise kitchen was nicely stocked beds were comfortable and the hosts took care of our few minor problems immediately! Definitely would return to this beautiful place.

Family get together

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron. The house was great. The views outstanding. Unfortunately our visit was too short to explore the Smith Mountain area. We want to come back and stay longer to enjoy all the amenities and activities the house and area offers..

Excellent lake house

We had an awesome time at this lake house! The place was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Loved waking up to the view of the lake and spending the afternoons out on the water.We grilled, hung out by the fire pit, and just enjoyed some peace and quiet. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and get away from the usual routine. The host was great too — easy to communicate with and made sure we had a smooth stay.Definitely planning to come back!

Annual Friends Vacation

This home is warm and inviting. There was plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out. We each enjoyed cooking in the fabulous kitchen. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ask for when it came to preparing meals. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a large place with great views.

Excellent location and home!

Blue Heron is one of the most beautiful properties we’ve had the pleasure of renting! There were 8 of us very comfortably in the home! We did have to arrange the multiple cars carefully, as the driveway is narrow and steep, but the owner left the garage available and we were able to park two cars inside, which helped immensely! It was very clean, all of the things needed for the week were provided, and communication was excellent we would love to stay again!
