My family of 4 are so pleased with the whole experience. We found it to be all we expected: the proximity to the river (with canoes, lawn chairs & fire pit with plenty of wood!) and the cabin's cleanliness & features. We've stayed at other nearby cabins over the years: this is our favorite. We'll be back !!

Cozy, quaint, clean little cabin. Loved the fully stocked kitchen and fully screened porch overlooking the Shenandoah river. Cute furnishings. Great secluded area not too far from town close to major attractions and hiking. Hosts were responsive- although we wanted for nothing. Our dog loved jumping in the river - he did not want to leave. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you!

Beautiful, secluded getaway! Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking essentials. The whole place was spotless and very comfy! My children loved playing on the swing and riding their bikes. Breathtaking scenery and sounds right in the yard!

Lovely waterfront pet friendly home

We had an amazing stay. Perfect private location, clean and well stocked. The screened in porch and waterfront views were better than described. We can't wait to visit again.

AMAZING Birthday Weekend!!!

Wonderful, peaceful sanctuary on the river! The secluded house has all amenities needed for river fun. Highly recommend and we willl definitely stay again!

Birthday retreat

We loved staying at Sweetwater Cottage! Peaceful, quiet getaway with kayaks available! We plan to return for tubing and more kayaking, too!

Tucked in at the end of Lorelei Road, you can't beat the quiet and cozy cabin for a small group getaway - great kitchen, fantastic porch and riverfront views. We plan to return!

Exactly as advertised! Peaceful and beautiful. Jan and John have provided everything you need to enjoy the river or just relax and watch the wildlife. We would definitely book again!

We had a wonderful time at this cottage right on the south fork of the Shenandoah River. It was clean and comfortable and we loved passing time sitting on the screened in porch. I enjoyed floating on the river with the provided tubes and kayaks. The kitchen is well provisioned for making almost anything. We would definitely stay here again

Outstanding stay!

My family stayed here for a week right after the Christmas holiday and absolutely fell in love with the cabin and the property.From exploring the cabin grounds, enjoying the firepit by the river, or just sitting, our kids loved life by the river and so did we.Jan and John were wonderful hosts and their place had everything you needed in the kitchen to make your stay enjoyable.We’ll be back!!

Great cabin, excellent owners

They have stocked this cabins with SO much you really feel right at home and should be all ready to quickly settle in to relaxing right on the river, and get your firepit lit :) our toddler absolutely loved it too and she did great sleeping in the rooms again (this is our third or fourth time i think renting this cabin) and the outlets in there are the new kind that don’t need outlet protectors!!

Fantastic River Front Vacation

My husband and I were very impressed with the house, the property setting and all the admendities. The kitchen is well stocked and laid out very functionally. FINALLY, a rental with comfortable beds! The screened in porch is also amazing!! The sounds of the running water and views are so peaceful and soothing! We would rent here again for sure!

Beautiful and relaxing.

We wanted weekend to unplug and relax and what a way to do it! The cottage is beautifully renovated and right in the river! Our host even left us some surprises for a birthday we were celebrating. It was such a nice touch.

Great Summer Vacation Spot!

We had a fantastic time at the cottage! The cottage was even better than the pictures show. We truly enjoyed our time on the river...very peaceful location yet it's near great attractions. The owners were very easy to work with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. It is very hard to find rentals that allow dogs and this place was VERY dog friendly. Our dog loved swimming in the river and hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. A great location for people who love to bring their pets on vacation!

Serenity indeed!

What a great weekend with friends and family! If you want to experience the best Virginia has to offer, spend a few days at the Cottage. It truly is a beautiful place! There is plenty to do if you want to keep busy(kayaking, fishing, etc.) or you can simply relax in the shade and enjoy the sounds of nature. I hope to visit again sometime soon!!

Thanks for your response. I am never at a loss for something to do at the cottage; all if it good. We have a saying that "a bad day at the cottage is better than a good day at work". Not a Moment Wasted

Our experience at this cottage was so wonderful, exactly what my family needed. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place that gave us the space we needed to bond and reconnect. The hosts are very communicative and kind, and went out of their way to be thoughtful toward my family by pulling out the right size life jackets for my kids and even pulling out a kiddie pool for them. We didn’t waste a moment of our trip here and can’t wait to come back.

Paradise found!

My husband and I took 2 of our grandchildren , age 12, with us to the cabin. We had an absolutely fantastic time! I can't think of a single thing we wanted that wasn't there. We loved the river, the canoeing, the tubing, the swing, the screen porch, the fire pit......and the (air conditioned!) cabin! Can't wait to go back again as soon as possible!

Sharon: Thanks so much for your wonderful review. We have found that Sweetwater is a great place to "turn the kids loose" and get acquainted with the wonders of nature. There is not a whole lot of trouble that they can get into and it is a great way to spend quality time.
