Welcome to our mountain home in beautiful Empire, Colorado — with 360° mountain views, crisp fresh air, and easy access to some of Colorado's best skiing and outdoor adventure.
This comfortable 3-bedroom home is a great fit for two families traveling with kids and sleeps up to 12:
Sleeping arrangements

Living room: Sectional sofa, comfortable for 2 more

The home has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and the basic cookware, dishes, and utensils you'll need to cook a meal. There are 1.5 bathrooms and a separate laundry room with a washer and dryer. The living area has a sectional sofa, a recliner, a TV, and a sideboard with an electric fireplace. Two doors — one from the living room and one from the dining room — open onto the front balcony for morning coffee and taking in the views. For downtime, there's a flip-top game table with pool, ping-pong, and air hockey.
Location & getting around

Empire sits right on US Highway 40 at the base of Berthoud Pass — a convenient base camp that puts Colorado's best skiing and mountain towns within easy reach:

15 minutes to Loveland Ski Area
30 minutes to Winter Park Resort
45 minutes to Breckenridge
45 minutes to Downtown Denver
Minutes to Georgetown for fishing, shopping, and dining

In spring and summer, you're surrounded by hiking trails and fishing spots. In town you'll find smaller stores, gas stations, and restaurants; the closest large grocery store is the Safeway in Idaho Springs, about 10 miles away. The home has central heating for the colder months.
A note on wildlife: This is a mountain town, so wildlife big and small is part of the experience — depending on the season you may see deer, bears, insects, and more. Please keep all trash indoors or secured, as anything left outside may be spread by animals.

Great place to bunk for ski or rafting week

We enjoyed the property's ample space. It was a great location for a drive to Loveland. Plenty of room for many to sleep. Property was just as described and owner was responsive.

Christmas family gathering

It was very clean and open. The game table was a plus! Could not find a wine opener, but other than that we enjoyed the facilities.

What a fun place to stay! It was larger than expected. So much room! The pool table was fun. Some suggestions: towel rack, or hooks for towels in the bathroom off of the kitchen. End tables would be nice in the bedroom off of the kitchen. More silverware and a basket for the dishwasher for the silverware would be great One complaint: when we came back to the house Saturday afternoon we couldn’t find parking places. People were parked all the way over even into the driveway. I’m assuming that the cars were from the white water raft company next next-door. We really did enjoy staying there.

Good location & price, but property is definitely a little quirky

If you're a group of college students looking for a place to stay with lots of beds close to skiing this place will be fine for you. If you're a family and traveling with kids, I wouldn't recommend it. Pros:-clean-good location -amazing coffee shop across the street -plenty of spaceCons:-odd floorplan, this was clearly some kind of commercial building or duplex that was haphazardly renovated -the open bedroom is right next to the living room and the lights are on the same circuit as the living room lights so you cannot use the living room after you put kids to bed -very cheap furnishings-beds only have a very thin quilt on them and no extra blankets are available -smallest shower I've ever seen, if you're above average size you'll be uncomfortable -very close to a busy road that has a lot of traffic and generates a lot of noise -uncomfortable beds -lots of broken things: --2 sets of blinds were broken and fell off the mounting hardware when we tried to open them (we stopped trying after my husband cut his finger and my 7 year old got hit in the head)--the nightstand drawer wasn't attached to a drawer slide and came out when we opened it--a pool stick was broken and the locks on the pool table were broken so the table is off balance--one of the toilets was not attached properly and shook every time we use it
