Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Built in 1901 , it used to be our family home and we have remodeled it with our own hands from the dirt up and we are so proud of it and hope you enjoy it too. It is not immaculate and still has some 120+ year old home quirks. Centrally located and close to a ton of attractions!

No covering for the deck.It rained our whole trip. The fire pit is rusted and has holes in it. Spider webs all over the wall next to the door going in and out. The skillets all stuck, burned everything.

Great location!!

Great place to stay, plenty of room for the entire family, east to get off and on the interstate to go where ever we wanted. Great home, owners were awesome and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

This cute little home is in a perfect location, right off I-40 — getting around was a breeze. Inside it was sufficient for our stay, with everything we needed for the basics, and you can tell it has the bones to be a really great place. The wifi is fast and the ac is cold. The washer and dryer were very much appreciated. The recliners were surprisingly comfortable even though they are broken. The refrigerator was perfect for what we needed. The fully stocked kitchen was extremely helpful so we didn't have to go to the store for so many things. That said, the listing photos set our expectations a bit higher than the current condition. The home feels dated and a bit neglected — there's a musty smell in the whole house, in the closets, in the main bathroom, in the pantry... there's definitely water intrusion somewhere, besides the roof leak over the toilet when it rains. All of the closets need drywall. We had to do a bit more cleaning to start our stay than we would have liked. Outside, there's a pile of junk in the yard that needs hauling away, and the decks feel wobbly, so the outdoor space is usable and beautiful, but be careful on it. The whole place is super cute, but definitely looks like it was someone's weekend project. Overall it was an adequate stay, and with some TLC, repairs, and yard cleanup this could easily be an amazing getaway. The house is really adorable. If it had a little more attention and investment from the owners, it would be a perfect place.

Thank you for letting me know about the leak as we were not aware of one before this or that the recliners are broken. The home is dated as it was built in 1901 and we have worked to update and keep some of the rustic features. It does of course still have some quirks that comes with an older home. Thank you for staying with us and we will get someone out to address everything.

Very Clean, Confortable, and Great Location

I stayed with a few friends for a wedding in Strawberry Plains, and the house was in a great location and very clean. The hosts were also very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Pros: Cute home & good location Cons: Home had a mold/mildew/sewer smell the entire time we stayed. Heat/air couldn’t keep up. We were either hot or cold. They were thinking of updating the system after our stay. Dryer squealed like a pig and had to turn it off. Home needs a good cleaning

Great peaceful location

This property is easy get to and in a nice spot that is quiet but close enough to things to do. While it is an older house, the owners did a nice job renovating it and it has a certain throwback charm to it. The owners also are very respectful and responsive to any needs. I would stay here again for sure.
