Bella casa privata con vista sull'oceano su 12 ettari alberati sull'isola di Islesboro, nel Maine. Islesboro è a 20 minuti di traghetto da Lincolnville, poche miglia a nord di Camden. È un posto incontaminato e tranquillo. Le città vicine sulla terraferma sono tra le più belle della costa.

La casa ha quattro camere da letto più un sunporch. Due letti matrimoniali, uno completo e due letti singoli. Una delle stanze da letto in una torre. everything in the house was terrific- we so enjoyed our stay and being able to bring my dogs--house even had dog beds they could use. the views from the deck and portico were so beautiful!the only caution is to be prepared for the ticks which are very present outside and thruout Islesboro..do have protection for your dogs and lots of protective tick products/ clothes- even with that we took many tiny ticks off our pups the first morining we let them out. After that we did not allow them to roam freely the rest of our stay and found no more tiny critters on them----or us!

We were all stunned by the view of the bay, the seclusion of the home as well as its charm and character. I could sit near to beach all day and watch/listen to the water. The home, while being 3 levels and 4 bedrooms was very cozy. We will certainly be back to the area during tourist season to more fully enjoy what Islesboro can offer.

Amazing location and beautiful home

This was the perfect place for our mother-daughter getaway week. The beautiful home is well equipped with bathroom/bedroom linens and kitchen cooking equipment. The views are magnificent, and the island's hiking trails are only a short distance away. It is a quiet, restful oasis.

Peace and Quiet

Mary’s little corner of the island was such a peaceful escape to leisurely days. Her property is exactly as described. The mornings were spent reading and sipping coffee. Afternoons were exploring the island preserves and looking at all the cozy and sometimes extravagant summer homes that dot the island. We would stop along beaches that we saw and would search for sea glass and treasures. Everyone who we encountered on the island was so nice. We quickly learned that you always wave when passing another car on the island. We visited the Island Market several times and their pizza is delicious! Back at the house for the night it was more reading -this time on the side porch In a rocking chair with the sun in your face. Dinner was made in the beautiful and well stocked kitchen-good thing, because I needed a bit more cooking oil than I had brought. After dinner the most amazing sunsets can be viewed on the beach, which is just down a path off the side porch. Although we thought we would have a fire in her fireplace, we never did-she had it well stocked for wood though, just never got around to doing so. It was exactly the type of escape we were looking for and left us wanting to come back for more. Thank you for sharing, Mary.

Paradise

We had an absolutely perfect time here. Highlights include: the beauty of the location, the seclusion, the large amount of space both inside and outisde, watching both sunrises and sunsets, communication with the host, the onsite library, and the well-stocked kitchen. I could go on an on about how wonderful this place is. Suffice it to say, it was hard for us to leave. If you have in mind to stay in a serene, beautiful house on the coast, I don't believe you can do better. As far as the island is concerned, the Island Market is a well-stocked grocery store. We had neither the need nor the desire to leave the island during our week-long stay. The Turtlehead Preserve (visible from the house) is worth the hike.

Be prepared to be consumed

We were consumed with the entire vacation experience. Mary’s vacation home is far more than we expected. The home was warm and inviting while being perfectly situated in a True Maine experience. We reviewed many Maine vacation homes before deciding on staying at this well equipped home that had everything we needed. Pictures and words can not say enough about the peace we found at this home on Islesboro Island. Mary is a great communicator, a wonderful host and is very gracious. We look forward to our next stay.

A little slice of paradise

What a wonderful place this house is! The location & views cannot be beat. The house itself is lovely & filled with all sorts of comfortable spaces & antiques with just the right amount of patina. In a time where so many vacation rentals all have the same, cookie cutter, “on trend” feel, it felt so nice to stay in a place that is clearly used & loved by its owner. All that + easy beach access!! We all loved being able to go down to the water at any time of day to swim, watch seals, beach comb or sit & enjoy the sunset & fresh air. I don’t usually write long reviews, but this stay was so magical it warranted it.

Perfect weekend stay

Perfect Island Getaway

This was the second time we rented this beautiful home. The house is set up for success in every way. The owner is great about staying in touch and provides information for contacts on the island should anything be needed. The views are stunning. It is quiet, peaceful and rejuvenating. Peace and Calm

Twice before, in 22 years of traveling, we have come across a location that felt homey and offered a place to just “be”. This stay was both these things on steroids. WOW! So relaxing, and lacked all the noise of vehicles, sirens, noisy people, etc., and just offered serenity. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Getaway

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week on Islesboro Island. Beautiful cozy home, on secluded spacious terrain. Magnificent views of Penobscot bay and opposite Turtle Head peninsula. Everything about this place was perfect! Welcoming from the very first minute. Very clean and comfortable. Well-appointed with linens, toiletries and fine kitchenware. Appealing home library. For “hobby cooks”, the selection of cook books is an experience… Mary was a wonderful host, very responsive to the few questions we had.

Ultimate Relaxation

The home is beautiful and everything you could possibly need is there. In fact, the power went out our first night and within minutes the generator kicked in. Our family had a lovely time-complete r&r. The views from the outdoor decks are fabulous and there are paths down to the water. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful property!

This was our second time renting Mary’s house on Islesboro. It is the the north of the island; very quiet with absolutely incredible views. It is a wonderful place to just relax and let the world go by. Also, my two dogs love it. Will rent again!

Mothers and Daughters Get-Away

Amazing and beautiful home on a secluded 12 acres…what more could you want. The ferry was very accessible and made shopping on the coast fun. Durkees market was perfect, groceries and handmade sandwiches and pizza!

The Best House on the Island

This past October my husband and I spent a wonderfully relaxing week on Isleboro Island staying in Mary’s house near Turtle Bay. This property lived up to every picture we viewed when deciding where to go. From the amazing waterfront views to the incredibly friendly islanders, we enjoyed every minute. You have to quickly get used to waving at the occasional oncoming traffic because every driver waves hello. Whether in the town community center or The Island Market, people were so engaging, helpful and friendly. Natives out for a walk will gladly recite anecdotes and facts about the island if you take a moment to pause. When we first got to the house we tried to guess when it had been built. My husband pegged it for some time between 1925 and 1940. It was actually built in 2005 but infused with an older charm that we fell in love with. From the period doorknobs to the claw foot tub and the endless nooks and crannies, it felt like a much older home. If that was the design intent, then it succeeds spectacularly. We love to cook and the kitchen was wonderful. We had everything we needed from spices to every type of coffee maker. My husband has now converted to only using a French press. The sunny day room behind the fireplace living room had a day bed that became my husband’s favorite place to nap. Deer walk through the yard almost every day and the ocean view is perfect from all rooms. If you enjoy quiet and solitude with a wood burning fireplace, you will love this house. Mary was a wonderful hostess and was very responsive to the few questions we had. We spent a week there and took one day to go antiquing on the mainland. Loved this respite.

Perché ha scelto questa struttura

Like most people, I came to the island first on the invitation of a friend. Within a few years I purchased the property and built the house a few years after that. I chose the spot for its privacy. No other house is visible from my house unless you really know where to look. The primary views are across Turtlehead Bay, where the sun rises, and it is a two minute walk to see the sunset. It is beautiful, peaceful, calm; far from the main road, surrounded only by trees and water. The island is a sort of heaven.

Cosa rende unica questa struttura

The feeling of being on an island is unique: there is a deeper sense of relaxation, a deeper safety. I sleep better there than anywhere in the world. My dog is free and full of himself.
