We do want to clarify one important detail for future guests reading this: the bike or walk to the beach doesn't require crossing the busy highway at grade. There's a pedestrian underpass that lets you walk safely beneath 98 directly to the beach access, so you can avoid the crossover traffic entirely. We'll update our listing description to make this clearer, since we don't want guests to feel they need to drive when a safe, bikeable or walkable route is available. That said, we appreciate your point about the distance — a half-mile walk with beach gear in the Florida heat is no small thing! Your tip about heading out early with a car is a great one for anyone who'd rather drive, and we're glad the wagon we provide could help make the walk easier too. One more tip for future guests: beach parking also tends to free up again after lunchtime, so a slower morning followed by an afternoon at the beach is a great low-stress option as well. Thank you for flagging the front door — to clarify for future guests, the door does lock automatically, so security isn't a concern; there's just no secondary interior lock, which is worth knowing if you're traveling with curious toddlers who might wander.
