Great guests. We hope they visit us again!

Thank you for staying with us! Just a few things need clarification as this is what we would consider our first disappointing review. The guest may have had sour grapes as the children broke quite a bit of items within the home and it more than likely added frustration to their stay. 1) AC is not needed at our high altitude. The attic vent must be engaged to allow hot air to escape in the evening. It is quite chilly in the evening and that's when you trap that air in the home and it feels like AC and then you must vent it. This home uses solar passive heat most of the year and if you're not properly using this system, yes, you can actually "trap" heat in the house overnight. 2) Maybe 1 in 20 guests experience altitude issues. We have unbelievable views because of our altitude & location, but certain guests with respiratory issues may feel the effects of being high up. 3) The only time you'd need an SUV/Truck/Jeep is winter time. We've had sports cars, limos, buses - all kinds of vehicles with no issues. However, we would advise guests not to drive low clearance vehicles like corvettes & ferraris on our dirt road. 4) There is a BBQ, the Big Green Egg - a grill as well as a smoker at a $2500 price point. No typical propane BBQ which is mentioned in the listing. 5) Correction: the nearest grocery store is 10 minutes in Nederland, not 20 minutes. 6) Pine pollen flies mid June. Hosts are unable to come to the property hour by hour as it flies all day long and clean it off everything. That week, you could clean it off everything outdoors and the next hour it's right back on everything. If you leave doors and windows open, it will collect inside as well. This one week of the year may be a drawback when you are in the middle of wildland nature. 7) Because of this review, we are updating our listing to clearly show the many private trails on property. They are wide and easily walkable as is the almost mile long private driveway. We are not a city park, but a mountain property, so our trails are unable to be flat and paved for strollers. 8) Each guest stay gets 6 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, 1 bundle of firewood among many other complimentary household supplies. If these items were exhausted during the stay, then yes, guest must purchase more at the store for themselves which is standard.
