Make your escape to Galveston Island, Texas at this 1915 cozy beach bungalow featuring 2 bedrooms, 1 bath with tub and delightful amenities. Nestled on a quiet street, The Blue Mermaid is a 100+ yr old home and only a short 2 1/2 block walk to the beach. Your fur babies will love the fenced in yard!
Offering modern amenities, sleeping for 4+ guests, private parking and outdoor space, beach gear and more, this enchanting abode is calling your name!
Being 100+ years old, this house is full of character and charm. It has been lovingly updated with little touches of home to make your stay more comfortable. In addition to the 2 queen beds, there is a queen air mattress for extra guests. There are two outdoor spaces for entertaining or relaxing to the sounds of the ocean waves. We are pet friendly but do ask that you follow our house rules and pet policy.
You will have access to the entire house, fenced yard, private driveway and entry.
We live in the front house of the property. I will be available via app messaging as I do travel often so may not always be on the island. Please feel free to reach out any time.
The Blue Mermaid is located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the beach/Seawall blvd. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. You can literally hear the ocean waves from the relaxing outdoor space.
Golf cart, bicycle rentals and the Galveston Island Trolley (only $1 fare) are located just 2 1/2 blocks away. Uber, Lyft and taxi service are readily available. Remember you are in the rear unit, so pick up and deliveries will be in the alley at the drive/gate.
A propane grill and fire pit available. Use at your own risk. Guests to refill propane tank and fire wood if needed. Grill and fire pit must be cleaned after use or a $50 cleaning fee will be charged.
$75 additional cleaning fee for 28 day + stays. Will be added
PET POLICY - Can't live with out your fur babies? No problem! We allow dogs, sorry NO cats. They must be on flea and tick preventative, housed trained and well behaved. Linens are provided to protect the furniture, please use it. Pick up and dispose pet waste in outdoor bin. Dogs MUST BE CRATED if left alone in the house.

Host: Renee Gibson
BOI - born on the island, Galveston Island Texas. Grew up in Dallas, recently move back to the island as most islanders do. I own and event management company. I enjoy shopping for that unique vintage find, accompanying my husband on his many work travels and spending time with friends and family - especially my grandkids! I am an animal lover and have a little rescue Peekapoo princess named Islee (eye-Lee). We also enjoy motorcycle riding when the weather is great.
