This is perfect for Navy families especially if you have a larger family! Very close to the train station and the base!! Beautiful homein a historic district.

We loved the location close to the shores of Lake Michigan and convenient to our local events. My family enjoyed our stay. The arrival gift basket was a lovely touch.

This was a fantastic place for our family to gather and celebrate our new sailor. The location was perfect for Navy Boot Camp Graduation. Travel to and from Great Lakes was very easy. The house was in a lovely area of Waukegan. The house was nice and clean. We had some a few things that required communication with the owner and they were very responsive and helpful. If you have a very large group (8), plan on being a little flexible around seating. For us this wasn't an issue and we could tell from photos what seating was available so this wasn't a surprise.A few things that would be helpful to know for guest:- The ice maker and water dispenser on the fridge are not hooked up so plan on getting a bag of ice and bottled water if that's your thing.- The coffee maker uses K cups. We brought ground coffee, but there's a dollar general store close by that we were able to stock up from.If we would definitely stay here again if we were traveling to Waukegan.

Great for our family

This house was a great place to stay when we were in town for a family reunion. There was plenty of room for everyone, the showers were nice, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Overall would recommend.

Great place for large family

The place was very nice and clean. I wished there was a washer and dryer. It was in a perfect location too be able to go to different attractions and also close to see my grandson graduate from the Navy Boot Camp

Beautiful Home / Amazing Host

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The host are very responsive and kind. The decor and amenities are very upscale. We felt catered to, and I would without reservation book again in the future. Thanks for an awesome experience!

Navy Graduation

We enjoyed our stay! The property owner made sure our safety was secured, the bedrooms are nice , but anyone with bad knees she has a bed down stairs, and we was greeted with a small welcome basket.our Navy graduation stay was peaceful&great,highly recommend.your within min from local shopping centerd&restaurant

Navy Graduation Trip

Amazing house, less than 15 mins to base. Waukegan is a great little town with some nice pubs and restaurants. Quick drive to the yacht club and Marina, great beach area. The house is very spacious, cleaned immaculately, plenty of space, very well stocked with everything you need. Owner/host is remarkable with quick responses and communication. Highly recommend this house if your sailor is graduating.

Cute clean home

This home is very clean and the owner is very responsive. We came to visit my son at RTC naval base and the house was only 10 minutes away which was really great. It is also right near a great pizza place. Just a couple things that should be noted- there is no dishwasher and no laundry and the 2 bathrooms are very very small. But, house is clean and comfortable and owner is very responsive and ready to help with whatever you may need.

Nice home, quiet neighborhood

The house was clean and looks just like the photos, space is a little smaller then they appear in photos. No dressers in any of the rooms for clothes and in one of the rooms the closest is locked making that room completely unwelcoming for longer stays. Expired food left in the gift basket.

We feel like this property is more like a 3.5 but can't do half stars.The pictures are deceptive of the size of the rooms- especially the living room, bathooms, & kitchen. The kitchen was missing some items we felt should have come with the property. There was some construction happening in one of the bedroom closets that wasn't disclosed to us beforehand.It is a great location if you want to be near the Naval base & is in a quiet neighborhood with a short drive to resturants & grocery store/Walmart.

This home was perfectly suited for our naval graduation stay. I stayed for a total of four nights. It's located within 15min of the base. Everything was clean and tidy inside the home. Upstairs bedrooms are on the smaller side as well as the bathrooms. The master bedroom is large. Overall for my personal preferences it was accommodating. I would recommend this property for travelers who can climb stairs. Those with bad knees or hips may find it difficult to enter the property. Managing the interior staircase may be difficult as well. Other than those things to be aware of when booking this property it is in a great location with everything you would need in close proximity.

Clean and quiet

The Palmer house is a very clean hundred year old home in a very quiet neighborhood. The beds are comfortable. To enter you must climb stairs. My 80 year old father had difficulty and made it impossible for him to sleep upstairs. Granted it was -20 when we checked in, but the master bedroom is an addition and was freezing for a day or two until the heaters could catch up.There are closets, but no drawers or places to store luggage so we lived out off suitcases on the floor for 6 days. But! The home is clean, safer, quiet and mostly comfortable.

Nice home to stay in.

The property was nice inside. We cook and the kitchen is not set up for people to cook. No bowls and such. I had to use the blender to mix our eggs for scrambled. Lol, it worked. I wish I had known that there was no dishwasher, it would have been a deal breaker for me. I was on a mini vacation and had to hand wash all the dishes, strip the beds and take out the trash. The owner was terrific and even sent us cookie sheets so I could make biscuits and a light bulb. The outside was not so nice with trash and such on the property and the waitress at the restaurant around the corner warned us not to go out at night. It was about a 15-minute drive to Navy Great Lakes graduation, which was why we were there. Had we had a full house, we were only 4 of us, there would not have been enough seating in the living room, but it worked for us.

Thank you Diane. It was great to host your family. The description on the house clearly stated that there was no dishwasher, sorry you missed that. The leaving room seating furniture was also clear in the picture and we have received zero complaints so far. The kitchen is equipped to function for a vacationing family but as expected, will not have everything you have in your personal home for special meals. Our property is located in a very safe neighborhood with no incidents or safety concerns, less than 2 minutes from the police station. Sorry the waitress misinformed you on that. We believe that we accommodated all your needs, communicated on time and even waived damage fees you after your party broke a brand new dinning bench. Congratulations to your family again.
