We loved this apartment so much! We stayed with our two boys and it was perfect. Spacious, clean, in a beautiful historic building, and the host was great to deal with. Also the location was amazing. If I come back to Paris again, I’ll be staying here!

We had a wonderful stay in this quaint Canal St Martin flat! The location was amazing - walking distance to the bustling canal with cafes and restaurants and easy transit to all the sightseeing. The flat was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Host Philippe was kind and very responsive and helpful. We didn’t end up using the small kitchen very much as there were so many places to eat out but it was helpful to have a fridge and some basics.

Great Location. Lovely neighborhood. Good amount of space and a balcony. 5th floor. Well stocked kitchen. Comfy bed and sheets. Loud at night if you need to sleep with windows open. We stayed during heat wave so it was very hot at night. Otherwise good choice for trip to Paris.

Beautiful apartment with floor to ceiling windows and fans that allowed us to be comfortable even during a heat wave. Lovely stained glass along the stairwell. Apartment was well equipped with everything we could possibly need, including umbrellas (which we didn't use). Wonderful shops nearby and also easy walking distance to Oberkampf metro. The bar next door is fairly animated, so there was some audible activity from down below. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay and really appreciated Philippe’s clear, responsive communication throughout. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and worked very well for myself, and 2 teens. We especially appreciated the easy access to the metro, which made getting around Paris simple and convenient. The grocery store directly across the street was another huge plus, and being able to cook some meals at the apartment helped keep costs down. One small suggestion would be to have a fan available for the living room during warmer weather. With the windows open, there was a moderate amount of street noise (about 6/10), so light sleepers may want to pack a mini sound machine. Overall, a very positive stay in a great location.

We had the loveliest stay and didn’t want to leave! The apartment was cozy, beds were incredibly comfortable, and the view from the small patio was beautiful. Fun to watch the hustle and bustle of this neighborhood. This apartment is a bit further out from the heart of the city but we loved that. So many fun shops, lots of great food, all just seconds from the front door. Philippe was incredibly helpful and responsive with all of our questions and even let us in a little early when we got to town ahead of our check in time. We would love to return!

The apartment is absolutely fantastic. It is super functional, very clean and has all the amenities one can need. The kitchen is super functional which allowed us to mainly have our dinners at home on the beautiful balcony enjoying the magnificent view of Paris. The location is fantastic and is a few seconds away from a grocery store, butcher, bakery, and pharmacy. Its closest metro station “Oberkampf “ is 5-7 mins away by walking. It is also located 15 mins away from the heart of the Marais district. This is our 4th apartment in Paris and although we loved all of them, this one is by far our favorite for all the reasons mentioned above. The owner, Philippe, is super nice, flexible for check in and check out and super prompt in responding to any questions I had. I highly recommend this apartment and we will definitely rent it again on the future.

The apartment was wonderful. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked and plenty of hot water for showers. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, walking distance to local fun spots, and the metro. Philippe is a wonderful host, easy to communicate with and gets back right away with any questions. Would stay there again!

It may have been the best vacation stay I have ever had. The location was magical. It felt like living in a Disney Movie. It was warm outside, but with the fans in the house, the temperature stayed perfect inside. With the windows open, every morning you would hear kids laughing and playing. And at night you would hear the buzz of the city. It's close to everything - the bus stop is a block up. The train is two blocks up. You can get anywhere from here. DO NOT EVER UBER. You have all the transportation you could ever need within reasonable walking distance.Phillipe was the greatest, easy to communicate with. Super accommodating, couldn't have asked for a better host.Be prepared for the steps though! It's five floors up. My daughter and I enjoyed the "challenge" of going up the stairs every day haha, will never forget it. The true Paris experience. We were sad to leave.The next time I'm in Paris, if this place is still available, I'm staying here again. Book this place for THE Paris experience.

Our experience differed from other reviewers. While there are aspects of Philippe’s home that commend themselves (e.g., the balcony), there were no indicators from property photos or the description that hinted this is a personal residence. We realize that’s common practice in Paris, but we aren’t comfortable with a resident’s belongings in every closet, drawer, corner, etc., and we avoid those properties. We felt misled by the property photos as they don’t reflect the general clutter that inevitably results from living in a city apartment and would have clued us in that this isn’t a vacation rental.We paid for four nights and stayed one, unfortunately incurring double expense for accommodations.Our check in information seemed great at the outset, but the building access code changed the day we checked in so we were stuck on the street in the dark trying to get into the building. Fortunately, some building residents arrived as we were considering our options and told us the code had changed. When we contacted Philippe the next day, he said he should have sent us the new code sooner. Well, yes.The apartment is across the street from one of Paris’s public bath houses. Those facilities are such a vital public service and something the US could emulate. Philippe does a good job of noting the stairs, and they are significant.We just didn’t have a good experience, and Philippe did say he would update the listing to reflect that the property is his residence.

Wonderful Parisian Area

My husband and I stayed here for a week and it was just the experience we were looking for! Parisian neighborhood, less touristy, beautiful view, near markets and cafes, and still within walking distance to Notre Dame where we caught the bus each day. Pierre was easy to communicate with, and accommodated us as we arrived early. We look forward to staying again!

Perfect place

Beautiful place in a great neighborhood. Two adults and a teenager, this place was perfect. It’s a fun, vibrant area but so quiet inside.Loved sitting out on terrace and morning walks.There is a 5 story walk up, may be hard for some.Highly recommend!

Classic Paris

We really enjoyed our stay here. It's close to several metro lines, grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants. The building and appartement are old and classic Paris, which is very charming. It is a 5th floor walk up, but you'll leave your vacation with strong legs :-)We would definitely stay here again!

A gem within a gorgeous community

Phillipe communicated with us in a detailed way so we never felt a moment of worry about the check in or details of the property. The home was lovely for our group of four with comfortable beds and living space. The neighborhood is vibrant with excellent food steps from the front door. We cannot wait to visit again.
